The hype of Momo joining the band permanently got their vids in my youtube recommended feed. I watched Gimme Chocolate 1st. I decided I need to check them out. Next I watched Official Live Road of Resistance. I decided I was a fan. I saw Monochrome first take next and fell head over heels for SU-METAL, HELPLESSLY... Then I watched Monochrome official video And became a superfan. The next paycheck I bought all their studio albums in one purchase. I have been smitten like Madmartigan in the movie Willow, when he got bopped with pixie dust ever since!!! I have not been this excited about a band since discovering Iron Maiden.

Young Su versus adult Su… the Headbanger compilation when it switches from her younger self singing to her older self near the end it hits me right in the feels every time.

I am so pleased Becca understood the message in the lyrics for 'Believing' - can I suggest that, if she hasn't already seen it, she watch the whole of the BABYMETAL Begins, Black Night concert from 1st April as well. They made it very clear that the original BABYMETAL have become Legend, this is the beginning of the new BABYMETAL. I won't go into all the specific dates of what happened when with regard to Yui (edit - autohmae has explained most of that) - but there were 12 months between her last performance at the Big Fox Festival in October 2017 and her announcement in October 2018 that she was still not fully recovered from whatever health issues had prevented her from performing and had decided to leave. Alan, the costumes and hairstyles you didn't like (those are feathers in their hair by the way) were from the Dark Night Carnival at the end of October 2018 where the Chosen 7 (Su, Moa + 5 dancers) were also revealed. They did not tour anywhere else with those costumes or all 5 dancers. Saya filled in in the third spot for the last few shows of 2018 including the Good Things Festivals in Australia. 'The Avengers' was not a name the fans made up, that was the official name given to Riho, Kano and Momoko in the first concert of the 2019 tour.

Alan, Becca: Enjoyed this very much, and here's why: I am a Japanese, who lived in Canada (Vancouver) 1955 - 1962, lived in Tokyo and Yokohama, but loves Hokkaido - been there maybe 40 times. I even bicycled there from Tokyo. I fell down the Foxhole July 6, 2021, so their Budokan live had already ended. One of the first reaction videos I saw was Dicodec reacting to ROR for the first time, where Alan insisted they were triplets! That was hilarious! I also had the same reaction as Alan when "Stairway to Living Legend" came out (Oct. 10, 2021). So you can imagine how I felt when I was able to get a ticket to their Makuhari Live this January. I have been to Fox God Bar 6 times, and I currently live near Washington, DC. Cheers! 🦊🦊🦊

For a moment i though she was Becca (intothemadness YT account), but that's a more recent new BM fan. So cool to meet this Becca, she's been a fan since almost the same time i met them when they had no other song than DDM. She's a beautiful megitsune (external and more importantly internally) and i really hope she can witness some day a Legend concert in Japan now that she had a bf and a life project over there. hey Becca-Metal, have you seen the fancam footage of Monochrome from the Stockholm Sweden show? during the lights segment, Su snuck up behind Moa and surprised her and her reaction was priceless.

I got into BABYMETAL in the middle of everything, right before the seal. It was towards the end of the Avenger era and I mainly saw Momoko perform with them. So I understand the different point of views within the fanbase. To me, this version of BABYMETAL feels brand new and I’m enjoying the ride so far!

Love this type of casual interviews ❤ my only complaint is the audio and video quality from Becca but that doesn’t take away anything. Too bad I didn’t go to the Toronto show since I love meeting up with fans and anyone I met so far was super nice. Love the whole Babymetal community ❤🤘🦊🔥

great conversation Alan-Metal and Becca-Metal, I don't think anyone mentioned the contribution of Muscle-Metal, Manako and Minami, who filled in admirably throughout 2018, granted they looked kinda scary with the heavy eye makeup,and muscles, but they were both great dancers and they turned out to be 2 of the chosen seven, and they both put on an awesome simulated fight scene during Akatsuki during the 2018 tour including the Dark Night Carnival, and surprisingly reprised their fight scene for the Budokan 10 years anniversary shows. Minako was a top student of Mikkio the choreographer and now is a choreographer herself and Minami was a stunt woman and actress in the Kamen Rider series. they might not have been as cute as the BM girls, but if any scum tried to get on stage in 2018, they would have been dealt with quite handedly by Muscle-Metal, hey Alan, why don't you take a little refresher course of 2018, with Distortion at Download 2018 or Rock Am Ring 2018, both are on YT.

I have the collecting bug as well, I buy pretty much all the Fan Club editions and still have a few to get but I have some nice ones, my favourite is the Japanese FC version of Metal Resistance with Syncopation that you have, the only thing I have ordered with them is the fan from Metali, sadly you could buy only one per person

I discovered them through the gimme chocolate youtube video in 2014-2015, growing up i was a huge fan of Japanese guitar virtuoso Takayoshi Ohmura while looking up his videos, BM was recommended so I checked it out and thought it was the most incredible thing i’ve ever seen in a long time *at the time. So i was following BM on social media but never really much paid attention to them over the years and never listened to their music… never really got into them until i saw a video reel in 2019 of road of resistance live at tokyo dome with all those people singing back to su-metal and instantly thought how massively they have grown their fanbase since i last saw gimme chocolate in 2014-2015 just blew my mind!! After that did the research, regretted how i missed the BM years with yui-metal… found out about the kami band member mikio… Metal Galaxy just came out… only 2 members Su-metal & Moa-metal left… etc. etc. in the ‘foxhole’ i go 😅😂 For me it’s all about the music, since then my journey with babymetal has been all about their music. The dancing showed me how they can feel the music. Metal music. That really grasped my attention on what babymetal is all about and to me they definitely earned their stripes over the years touring with respected bands and big stages. So the dream comes true seeing them live on the babyklok tour in Toronto last September, front row barricade on the right side where i find myself watching moa-metal standing right front of me, again… what an incredible experience… all that being said, every experience i’ve had with babymetal was and always been incredible. I discovered BabyMetal back with GiveMe Chocolate and Headbanger. Then I lost track of them until recently with Metali and I can’t stop listening.

Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) officially left the group in October 2018 because of ongoing health issues. She had not been on stage with BABYMETAL for a year before that. Before settling in with the three rotating support dancers they had from 2019 to early 2023, they tried a few different combinations. 'Legend S' December 2017 (Hiroshima, Japan) - Su and Moa alone. Yui was expected to perform, but was unable to. US/Europe Tour May-June 2018 - Minako Maruyama and Minami Tsukui. (Known to fans as Musclemetal). Japan October 2018 - The Chosen Seven- Minako Maruyama, Minami Tsukui, Shōko Akiyama, Saya Hirai and Kotono Ōmori. December 2018 - Singapore/Australia - Saya Hirai Japan/UK/Taiwan/USA 2019 - 2023 - The Avengers - Usually one support dancer for each show, selected from: Riho Sayashi, Kano Fujihira and Momoko Okazaki. Momoko was the only remaining avenger since the February 14th, 2020 concert in Berlin, Germany. She became a full BABYMETAL member at the end of the April 1st, 2023 'BABYMETAL Begins-The Other One-Black Night' concert, and had a microphone the next night at the 'Babymetal Begins - The Other One-Clear Night concert.

Let's be very clear, the reason Moa and Yui auditioned together is a bit more involved. Before Sakura Gakuin got started, their was a training group for months with a lot more members and there would be less and less over time. A sort of internal selection process (which included all 12 members of the first generation of SG), then SG was debuted as a 10 member group in 1 magazine and after that, a month or 2 later, it was made clear Yui and Moa would be the "transfer students" and thus SG became 12 members. The audition was almost 100% if not 100% done for show, to establish a tradition. It's not a real audition. I think even the Fox God or his messenger was involved in choosing the song and how long it was performed. Because if you look at the Babymetal Over The Future performance, the moment when Su-metal joins them on stage is the same moment in the song when the audition ended.

Hope she does well in Japan but she seems rather political which is going to go over like a wet fart in church. BLM was irrelevant there and the westerners protesting (without permission or a permit) pissed off the native population pretty bad for disrupting traffic and society at large.
