Loving the learning moments in this series. The frustration and explanation definitely more memorable and less likely for the viewer to make the same mistakes. It’s going to be a rad as ute..👌

I’ve had a thought that in a couple of years someone might do a copycat Ute which would be amazing! Hopefully the videos show enough for them to not run into the same problems as I have.

I don't know you figured out how to close the gap on the door. I thought you'd hit an unsolvable problem, short of a big rebuild. Amazing!

I literally found your channel a few days ago and have been hooked. One of my many dream builds is a Golf based UTE. I’d really like to find a cheap wrecked R32, but an AWD TDI would be cool too.

Don't beat yourself up over getting the process in the wrong order, or having to go back and redo things, you have stated yourself plenty of times you are learning as you go, and certainly have come a long way from where you started with this project.

I have no experience building a car, filming or editing. It’s hard to paint a masterpiece when you have no experience but if you hang around till the end you might be surprised

Rewatching the video I can really see how much lighter I am, the panel finally coming in was a huge relief and I can’t wait to have all the metal bodywork done and have a Ute!

hi lewis if you are having trouble getting the outer quarter panel lined up with the door then you may need to move the inner quarter panel forward . If you have lined up the outer panel without the inner being in double check as once you have welded the inner you will have trouble pulling the outer forward 5mm don't just assume lining the edges up is correct measure and measure again better now than later but apart from that starting to look real good look online as there will be measuring points where you can spot on measurements for the panels cheers glenn

I had thought that but I assumed pulling it over would work, I definitely have a look and see if I can find measurement online and triple check before I start welding it on. Cheers

If you're planning on doing a lid for the bed, make sure it's a hard top lid for safety and because the material and soft tops are easy to get into. If you don't plan on doing a lid ignore this message

I’ve thought about it and although it would be cool to have a hard lid with all the effort ive got to make the Ute bed loon OEM or clean I can’t cover it up with anything

First i was sceptical od the looks. Wheels each to his own. Something more era suiting wiuld be looking better. But thats just my 2 cents. Anyway other than that this is absolutely beautiful build! Holy shit!! And content is awesome!!!

They’re the only BMW wheels that will fit on the car and over the brakes that I’m using. I know they’re not for everyone but wait until the cars finished and then let me know what you think

Great job as always. Just one point to think about before welding in the inner bed arches: how will you get access to the upper bolts of the rear shocks in case you meet to replace them? Greetings from Germany, Patrick

Because I’ve used the rear panel from a proton jumbuck/arena I can just use the window out of one of those
