If the injector opening hump is earlier and the closing hump is later, this is a sign of a broken spring inside the injector and a reason for a rich running cylinder, bank, or overall engine in cases where the ECU does not determine the exact cylinder affected by this rich condition. Remember the pintle is partially closed or held closed by both fuel pressure and the spring action pushing down hence a broken spring allows for earlier opening and later closing based on only fuel pressure pushing it downward. If the humps are moving around, this is a sign of pintle sticking intermittently. For techs who don't have an amp clamp to monitor amps and opening pintle humps, then the voltage waveform should suffice, if the pintle is seen closing, then of course it must have opened. Very nice presentation.

Well I’m glad I made the cut to be uploaded. This definitely took much longer to make than expected, but was a great learning experience. I can still hear the 10 shots required for each section haha
