Judge Roy Scream is in reference to Judge Roy Bean - a tough hanging judge from the 1800s.

We were in line for judge Roy scream, when a group of teenagers ran through the grass and jumped in line; it took like 10 minutes but security came and kicked them out of line and everyone cheered.

The theming of the park is based on the six flags that flew over Texas. (Texas, Spain, France, Mexico, US, Confederacy) All were separate countries. The name six flags kind of lost its original meaning when they started to expand out of Texas. The park is 55 years old which makes it just 5 years younger than Disneyland. Also the Yosemite Same Dark Ride use to be Spelunkers cave which had original characters and themes.

i might be going in 2 weeks so its really great to get this kind of information of whats in the park and really appreciate it In the Loop!

Some Fun Facts: 1) Six Flags Over Texas is still owned by the family that originally opened it; however, it is operated by the company they sold the Six Flags Name to. 2) The abandoned gas station was in operation up till recently, and also highly over priced.

Texas Giant trains are Cadillacs, not Corvettes. FYI. Specifically, 1961 Cadillac. And yes, Matterhorn is the first tubular steel coaster. There used to be a longer spiel for the Runaway Mine Train that more specifically described it's place on the list of Firsts, but it's been shortened over the years to the point of being wrong now.

I would second your opinion on Freeze's efficient loading system. What an awesome piece of engineering that system is! So much so that Premier Rides got an IAAPA innovator award for it!

Funny you say there are no forces on the Giovanola hypers when the reason why they do that hard stop on the midcourse is because of the forces in the helix. They started doing that because of the aneurysm death and complaints of grey outs in the helix of Goliath. On a hot day, you can still grey out in the helix.

Great tour! I've never been to Six Flags Over Texas, so it was nice getting to know what kinds of rides the park has, the layout etc.

Sorry to hear about the crowds during your visit! I'm there every weekend and have never seen it as crowded as it was! Hopefully you'll be able to come back soon for a more normal weekend! During the summer lines on weekends never exceed an hour and weekdays are typically walk on's!

This brings back a lot of memories. SFOT was one of my "home" parks when I lived in Texas, and still one of my all-time favorite parks. It's one of the only two things I miss about Texas (the other being SF Fiesta Texas).

Nice video. I live in the Dallas area, so I've been to Six Flags numerous times. Best time to go is in mid to late May when all the kids are still in school. By 1 or 2 in the afternoon the park is virtually deserted and you can ride the rides without waiting. Also at 19:27 at the Roaring Rapids ride, someone actually died on that ride back in 98 or 99 when the tube flipped over and the person couldn't get the safety belt to come undone.

Good walkthrough. Sundays are generally very good days to come to SFOT. The parking lot was actually more full than it is most Sundays.

I enjoyed the video I have lived in Dallas/Ft. Worth area all my life. Been to this park a lot of times Haven't had a chance to do Hall of justice ride looking forward to that. Saturday at Six Flags is the busiest day there I was not surprised were you had to park Sunday is usually better glad you went both days.

About the gas station... Angus Wynn was an oil guy and there wasnt much around the park when built so hence the gas station. SFOG also had one in it's parking lot. Even though acquired and not built by SF, Magic Mountain also had a gas station. The structure is still there as well.

It's odd how some of the VR coasters are extremely slow. Revolution is dispatching every 3 mins. Usually dispatched before the 2nd train comes back.

Irronicly, its new name is "the revolution(like that they kept "shock wave", but neing the first six flaggs park... ... ...the ownis should of been on making Six Flaggs Over Texas(BEYOUND DISNEY WORLD!!! not just sustaining it! ; this park should have , the worlds tallest, biggest, fastest, meanest,most buitifull, and most creative!!! In Flaggs and Rides(Countries and Thrills! Again i have not been their since 1976, but this "dialougue" took me through the park, just fine at 55+ years of age... ... ...also a gondola ride, sky high, and one low, would work too american airlines stadium, for bonus parking and events ; lakes, rivers, waterfalls, streams, fountains, swimming... ... ...allways never enough water ; again...where is Dart Rail too DFW Airport, Dallas and Fort Worth ; "make it a ride"(share!
