SkeeRide 2 Build - 3D Printed Snowmobile

Today we're building the all new SkeeRide 2 by BuildItBetter. This video is not meant as a build guide as there's a few times in the video I have to go back and redo some things. This was my first SkeeRide 2 build so it was a bit of a learning experience. Build includes the initial test-run at the end of the video.

What size of battery like can you use a full size 3s or does it have to be smaller to fit in the sled

The tool you use for the small screws, is it an electric screwdriver? Is it a special magnetic bit to hold the screws?

yeah I have the makita 12v electric driver. The bits are metric hex drivers in different sizes, not magnetic although magnetic would be nice.

Is brushless needed? I have a 550 brushed 12t just laying around . What size brushless if that's preferred ?

Preferred motor is this sensored one: rcprinter.com/products/castle-creations-monster-x-combo Here's what I carry for budget: rcprinter.com/products/surpass-hobby-3674-brushless-motor-with-120a-esc-sensorless-combo Brushless isn't technically required. Preferred motor size is 3674 with ~2200 kv. A 550 has the same 36mm width so it should fit but not sure if it'll be the right speed/power for the skeeride. My guess is 12T might be too fast but IMO its worth a shot if you have one lying around and you can always upgrade later if required or perhaps try a larger spur or smaller pinion on the belt drive.

Yeah i think it was running on 3s in the video but I've tested it upto 6s as well. I like 3-4s the best I think.

sorry I just print these out on sticker paper on my regular inkjet and cut them with scissors. very low tech.

I'm sure if you check the discord server people will have tried it but generally this track is much more robust than skeeride 1 so hasn't caused a lot of issues when printed in pla.
