i like tissue paper from the dollar tree; it's strong but becomes sheer when glued down. and the price is right!

@@jackieschomburgart thanks so much, colored pencils, a graphite kit, mixed media sketchbook, regular sketchbooks and a beginner acrylic paint kit ...I found an art supply store but it a 12-hour drive to the capitol but they have Gesso! so I may need to make that trek lol ...I subscribed and I'm going through binge watching your videos you are amazing 🧡🧡

Oooh, you’re going to have so much fun with those supplies! Oomph, a 12-hour drive for gesso sounds intense. 😬 Honestly, before you go through all that trouble, try painting without gesso first. I don’t even use gesso on my paper. Some people love it, but I just paint directly on my paper. Pro-tip: if your paper curls from paint and you are able to get some gloss medium or matte medium (or even Modge Podge if it’s more available), you can add a coat of that medium on the front and back of painted paper and it will flatten out. Yum reminding me of a dress I had when I was 12/13 at Boarding School wore it till it fell off, it made me sing inside. Loved this session hope you slept well after visual excitement...🙂

I love your work and enjoyed watching you create this. Is that what's called a catalyst wedge or maybe a color shaper that you used to spread the medium?

Hi! Thank you! Yes, the catalyst wedge is a gray silicone(?) tool with no handle and the color shapers are made out of a similar material but have a handle. They are two of my favorite tools!
