That's fine for a building, but how about a plumbing fixture? I found an .SKP of a faucet, and I brought it in as a mass in Revit per your instructions. I want to schedule it as a plumbing fixture but Revit won't let me change its category from mass. What to do?

Really NIce. How about the structural elements? Does he recognize the geometry of your structure underneath and convert it directly into trusses from it's library? Does it bug at this point?

So when i tried this it all shows as one mass all my floors and walls etc are all grouped together even though in sketchup they arent, can someone help me?

Using this technique, Revit throws me an error message "Some ACIS objects could not be imported. To import them, use AutoCAD to convert them into polymesh objects and reimport."...It does not like curves with multiple faces...such as pipes, railings, etc with more than sever segments. Probably doesn't like a lot of other stuff too if I know Revit. Anyway, I got a skp model to Insert into a Mass. However, I don't want it at my level One (0'-0")...and I cannot seem to move it in the Z-axis. Any thoughts on this? Ah..never mind-right Click-Edit Family..THEN move it. In my case I'm not going to build walls and roofs on my model...I'm bringing in something with complex geometry that would take a few years in Revit to model...so it's a real time saver. However, the line weights/visibility graphics cannot be modified. Any workarounds to this issue?

didn't work at first for me - my model was too complex so deleted furniture and any non critical parts then saved it as sketchup 7 and worked thx for the vid

Hi, your video is very helpful. I have a question when I did it by myself. it shows "This family instance has too many edges. Remove unnecessary geometry or split the instance into multiple instances." and stop me from inputting the sketch model.

Thanks for the video, it really helped me out. Does somebody know if it's also possible to make a solid mass out of a sketchup imported mass? And assign a material to that mass afterwards?

Revit 2014. Tried to save sketchup as versions 5, 6, 7. And it still says can not open file.

I have tried this but it doesn't work. I was able to do everything but when I try to reopen the file it can't be reopened.
