*Eastside Low Bottoms shit !* I'm from South Central Los Angeles, Low Bottoms, Ca. I moved with Pops, an Original Pueblo, to 8 Tray hood on 90th Place between Normandie and Budlong from '83 until he passed in '86. Then moved in with a Relative from '86 to July of '87 before moving back here to the Low Bottoms. I went to and graduated from La Salle Elementary school. Then went to Horace Mann Jr High school for the 7th, 8th and the first 2 weeks of the 9th grade before checking into Carver Jr. High. Trying to catch the bus from the Eastside all the way to Horace Mann wasn't gettin' it ! I remember on a _few_ occasions Horace Mann being shut down kz the 8 Trays and 60's were going at it tuff ! I would sometimes lose my bus pass so i had to walk from Horace Mann all the way to 90th Place. Sometimes down Western, sometimes down Normandie...in the mid EIGHTIES ! RIP to my lil Relative OG Lil Man from 67NHC. He did 20+ years just to come home for about a year and then get knocked down at home. Cold world. Great history Skipp, but most of all, great MEMORY ! Damn ! Lol. Thank u and Alex for the priceless info.

I like the way street gangs has progressed and evolved! I know its dumb to compare Alex and Kev platforms but they both have a great skill set and unique presentations. Both brothers are doing a great job and a just service to urban culture. As negative as it may have been founded on, these brothers are turning it into something positive! Some if the interviews are just too short. But STV is doing the best they can to revive and paint vivid pictures with more documentation of the actual streets, pictures , honorably name mention flashes in the corner? Yea I caught that lol! Great job Alex and to the rest of the Street TV team! You came along way! Keep going!

Not from LA or a gang member but I particularly like when you talk about 83 history. I think their history and their opposition to the r60s isn't spoken about enough. Them or the Hoovers. Ezekiel 2517 X lol white aryans and Jews started documenting black gangs first bro, sorry to break that news to you... I’ve been a fan of streetgangs for years until Kev Mac was introduced to us.. @@lorddubai1935 That journalistic style as it come to gang culture was first formulated by ALex Alonso, there are countless interviews going back 15 to 20 years on here, that have nothing to do with kids. You sound foolish. He even produced the documentary "Bastards of the Party" and it's amazing how Alonso does not get the credit he deserves from people like you.

😂Man If you only knew. Gang bangin is everywhere & just about in every state in America NOW but nobody will ever know How it is & was in L.A. to know your life is on the line if you step foot on a certain Street or Block or what to say or wear around certain people. I dont even bang but just growing up in a neighborhood thats Active & family members that's active. I had turn learn at an early age of what hood im in,What Street I'm on ,is this Hood Cool with niggas from my neighborhood. When i was 7yrs old i got layed out by a grown ass dude who was 19yrs old because of the neighborhood i was from. I was in they hood at a birthday party & these niggas came up on us pressin us about where we from. I could tell they was playing at first until some of us told them where we was from and that's when they started to trip. Because i grew up in a big active "BLUE" Hood & I was in They Hood which is a Very Active "RED" Hood that happened to be a main enemy to My Hood. they even knew some of my family members & Niggas from my neighborhood i named. So they started talking shit to me & im a lil smart Ass/Bad Ass i start talking shit Back & Homie Swung on me 😂😂 Swole my lips up 😂 i told my Mama i another kid did it. But when my oldest sister found out she Told everybody so my pops told his Brothers (My Uncles) And All of them Bang. So it ended up being some big shit. Niggas got jumped & shot at i think somebody even got Shot but Nobody got killed in that lil beef but that Shit could've been 10× Worse... But that goes to show you that in L.A. going to a lil kid Birthday party in the Wrong hood can start A War.

Been in La and New Orleans . New Orleans is DEFINITELY more dangerous than La . La is not as dangerous as people make it seem , it’s not like it was in the 90s . I’ll be damned if I go back to New Orleans .. the hoods that is .

@@eddieah6213 South Central LA/Watt's is most definitely dangerous as any city in America due to the gang's at war... Those other cities are super poor and smaller so of course they're bad,but South Los Angeles is ground zero for gang culture...wear the wrong color and your life could end.

@@eddieah6213thank you! People overhype the dangerousness of LA daily! It isn’t half as dangerous as it was in the 80’s and 90’s.

Where exactly is the "Westside." What are the boundaries?

I'm guessing the LA freeway that's runs thru south LA and divides it in half , anything west of that is Westside
