LOS ANGELES - London "Zel" Carter was a Blood Alley member in 1968 when he was a student at Foshay Junior High School during the last stages of the gang's identity, but as soon as that gang faded from the scene, a new gang replaced it, Hoover Park Family.
London talks about coming back form the military in 1974 and how the Rollin 20s had taken over the previous neighborhoods of Blood Alley. Enjoy the only 3 camera set up in the game.

They still came from a time where blacks valued, wanted, craved and desired equal rights in Education. which WAS one of those rights. We had the schooling ethics of asians etc. Some of my relatives who are early late 40s to early 60s had/have great careers. The ones early 40s and below is 50/50 successful 50/50 criminality, you start to see the socioeconomic, drug etc impact

I love watching the older cats talk these younger dudes need to take notes and realize what they doing or going thru the ogs done did it whether its called by a different name or the same. Whodoyoutrust ?, It was just a downward trend. If you were to go back further, like into the 1940's and back, you'll see that even small boys wore suits, or some variation of a suit, and a hat or a cap. You weren't a "real man" back then if you didn't own a hat. You went from a cap to a hat. Now, everything is "watered down." People don't even dress up for interviews, weddings, funerals, or even church. So, with that being said, I also think that a lot of dignity is lost😎😎😎

Alex Alonso, you should do a video series highlighting the year 1974 in South L.A.. From what I've been consistently hearing, FOR YEARS, on TV interviews of those who grew up in South L.A., from the interviews on your channel & other channels, it was a Pivotal Year for Los Angeles just like 1992. It was like 1977 was for New York. In the series you could include all the culture, people and gangs (Bloods, Crips, Latin gangs), prisons being built and the impact it had on the future of Los Angeles the city, gang culture and American society in general! This would be awesome! It could take your platform to another level!

That brother said they drank Ripple and I immediately thought of Sanford & Son. On a serious note black men have too many excuses about being failures. Just because drugs and guns are in your presence does not mean you HAVE TO USE THAT AGAINST EACH OTHER. Is there any discipline with black folks or do we need to be controlled by outsiders? I have been alive for 35 years and I have lived in a shithole neighborhood in westside Detroit and I never sold drugs, shot another brother outside of self defense, nor have I did drugs. Everything else is weak excuses.

I met a general from Black P Stones in the Jungles 16 years ago. He told when he was 13 years old in the early 1970s, he and friends would walk the train tracks and find boxes of guns. He was like: "What would you expect to happen with no guidance and leadership? We knew about Black Power and the Panthers, but at the time, it was on its way out." It was on the way out by the mid 1970s due to overt government repression and covert infiltration, which led to infighting.

As far as the sherm, my mom is from Westside Chicago Humboldt Park, she moved to Cincinnati when she was 17, its where her mom and dad, all her Aunts Uncles n Brothers n sisters left to in the mid to late 70s cause of alot of ish went town and her uncle was killed by crooked cops in his bar and just alot of ish happened, her dad and mom were both originally from downtown Cincinnati, but anyways she can remember her 2nd oldest brother tripping out on sherm in the 60s when she was a kid, its wasn't in just cali... hell my oldest uncle used to tell me his stories from back when he was bangin, this ain't the one that would trip out on pcp ( Hes a insane Latin GD or some like that ) and used to tell me that they used to throw dynamite down the block and into peoples houses, he said uzis mac 10s 11s, tec 9s, shotguns was common back then even when he was a kid, he started bangin in the late 60s when he was 13 - 14, left in the Late 70s he was the last to leave Chicago, n decided to go cause all his family left...

Sherm comes from funeral parlors or embalmers who use embalming fluid to slow down decomposition of the deceased. This is done for wake or viewing services. Now IMO, sometime long ago an embalmer got some fluid on his hand, smoked a cigarette and felt something crazy. So it did not come from govt, Central America, CIA, etc. Its a product and a mistake happened.

Adalberto Moreno I think his interviews do a good job of showing the harsh realities of this lifestyle. And I don’t know what information gang unit would get from these they already know more then what Alex knows and that people are willing to say on camera. These videos are good for kids if you explain it to them while and after they watch it.
