Some have a peg spot welded on the follower, and some have a plug spot welded in the bottom of the magazine.

So unless the flipping cartridges are just 88 mm shells the size of a 7.62x39, son I ain't no lawyer either but I am a retired game warden. Back in the day I would catch people using BB guns that people modified to be automatic, with a 1,000,000 round drum magazine that looked like a ship mounted 50 caliber anti-aircraft quad guns. When the guys that owned the BB gun saw my truck pulling up to them, they thought that I was called in because someone was anode because the BB guns sounded like MG 42's going off full auto. Once I got out of my truck I asked them, "Is that AA gun chambered in 50 cal." they said no it is an automatic BB slinging anti-bird gun, after they said that. I was relived that it wasn't an actual 50 cal., but when they said it is a anti-bird gun I was just laughing so hard that they were asking me if I was okay. I asked them if I could give it go, they did and it was crow season, and the law never said anything about using a BB gun for crow hunting plus they had permits and it was their land so let them go with a recommendation, "Whatever you do just don't think about using this AB gun on turkeys cause the law does say to not use a BB gun no matter what even if it has the stopping power of a ten gauge shotgun.

I would assume that it is leagal anyehere shotguns with plugs are legal.

Jon Lucas I could see this presenting a couple of issues. First, after 5 rounds you would end up loading an empty case. Second, the magazine would still be a 10 round magazine. There for not legal to hunt with.

@@jonlucas5521 Hey Jon although it would technically it is five rounds in common knowledge, but yes it still is not legal for hunting even though the 5 spent casings don't count as "live" ammunition. But you could make 7.62 x 39 cartridges out of wood to put in you ten round magazine I have done that in my retirement and a game warden asked if I had a block in the mag, I just told him that I was a retired game warden but we even as game wardens must obey the rules of using a semi-auto rifle for hunting as well. He apologized I told him there is no need for apologizing at that moment I saw a nice sized doe walking down from a ridge I only put one cartridge in the mag because I know my SKS and I only use iron sights I estimated that doe was 50 ft. away I lined up a shot and dropped that doe right in front of that new game warden and the look on his face was just enough for me to understand. Then he said, "How the f*** did you drop that doe at exactly 50 ft." like I estimated, then he looked at my rifle he told me to open the bolt so I did what he saw was oak 7.62 x 39 cartridges.

No different than an shotgun plug, which are perfectly legal and acceptable solutions.

almnmnmmaa In my state it's the same as a plug in a tube fed shotgun. Some states require it to be permanent, so check your local laws.

Why would you want him to remove it? It's a nice, totally reversible mod that greatly increases the accuracy of the gun. The stock blade and flange sights are really not that great. They work OK, but due to the thickness of the front blade they have accuracy issues. Swapping to a rear peep reduces the issues of the overly-thick front blade without drastically modifying the firearm.
