Hailing from the suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri, the electronic pop duo consists of Dylan Brady and Laura Les. Laura attributes the band’s eclectic style to the two having grown up on the Internet. In our Skullcandy interview, she references discovering secret Pokemon videos soundtracked by Nightcore songs, a genre she simply describes as “sped up songs with high-pitched vocals.” It’s not a bad description for 100 Gecs either.

Everyone keeps saying that this interview is awkward but I think this is just how Dylan and Laura are. The interviewer asked lots of genuinely engaging questions, diving deeper into their process and who they were before 100 gecs. Yes the personal questions were a little awkward but they didn't seem uncomfortable and they didn't back out of answering anything.

y’all are being weird an interview is not gonna be as casual as conversation between good friends. The interviewer is doing his best to give them incentive to elaborate about themselves and they seem to be a bit reserved as people. Nothing wrong with it and it’s not that awkward lol. Edit: Just got to the part where he pried into their parental situation growing up and that was quite uncomfortable and unnecessary lol.

oh my goooooood dude you just know that when the interviewer goes "how about your folks, diD tHeY sTaY tOgEtHeR?" that dylan could sense it coming cause that dude was already prying from Laura for so long, and that when he gets a "no" from dylan that the interviewer is licking his lips and going "Gotem" on the inside
