I remember how the media reacted to a literal terrorist attack on that hotel housing furries. It was a complete disgrace. Laughing at innocent people going to the hospital after an attack just because of a hobby they enjoy.

It was DISGUSTING. I was quite upset at the situation, and even my mom agrees that it's a terrible idea to try and do something so harmful to morally harmless individuals. Both my parents are extremely supportive of my works.

One of my friends was at the gas attack convention, thankfully he was okay and wasn't affected by the chemicals, but he said it was one of the scariest moments of his life. It's really hard watching the media cover that because they just... forget there are living breathing people under those costumes

Once i was at the local park in my dinomask and the news came up to me and asked questions about Camara and the fandom , and the next day i saw that i was in the news great time!😀

I would use that for clout and without shame. I would obviously be careful if I felt fine with answering. I have a strong positive opinion of the furry community because they don’t deserve hate, and it’s kind of annoying for people to say “you think you’re animals” but that’s legit an entirely different thing. I could also make a video about that and I could probably promote my dead channel with it. It could be a positive experience and I know dodgy stuff. Like if they asked “why are you in the community” I’d talk abt how I whole-heartedly love everyone (other than like- a few ppl but I don’t know if I would mention them even if they’re bad and there’s almost no really awful people in the community, they’re just gonna add a worse stigma to the community) and that others should be respectful of hobbies or wtv. Just gotta be logical about it. Hope you’re okay- srry for ranting here lol

My only interaction the media waa with a group at a con- the guy kept try to feel my fur- rubbing during the interview (and no it was the arm either) I was about 2 sec from decking the guy right there. The others in the group were like really uncomfortable with him and sent a complaint to the con who he said he represented.

Yah i hate how people that are a part of the nsfw side of the fandom have to be treated like that. Made out to be villains and hidden away even though its completely normal and natural to be adults with adult interest (be it your not hurting anyone of course) because if people are more open and honest when it comes to the media they will instinctively get slapped with every bad label in the book and then the fandom will get it as well.

Seriously though its common to see way weirder, like feet or piss for some reason im not sure why those two seem to be the most popular. And thats coming from me I like weird, for crying out loud I own two Radiohead CDs (OK Computer and Kid A) and a Primus CD (Pork Soda) and probably more in the future. I just don't know why people harp on the NSFW furryside so much when stuff like that exists. Also most of it is hot lol its partially how I became a furry, but that story is a bit of a long one and I dont need to make this longer

I agree i just dislike the people who show it to young kids on purpose ive had it happen when no one asked for it. some young furs get mad when they see it but they searched it they wanted it im not counting the ones who did not consent to being shown it, Adults started the furry fandom its okay to be a kid in the community but adults started it there will always be adult content and thats fine its normal yet people get mad even tho any other fandom dosent get nearly the amount of hate for posting it for no reason

Normally have a parent or 2 lean real close and ask about the sexual stuff. Luckily I kinda always pretend I never heard it haha. Got it on Friday at an event and luckily nothing today at the flower festival. Honestly you were super brave about the reporter. Good on you Skye. i kinda have a funny story relating to you in the news, once when i was in art class i went to one of the big tubs of newspaper you use when your painting and stuff, and the first one i saw was a article with skye front and center and i was caught so off guard my friend noticed and i had to explain to them why i was so surprised.

I feel like most furries go through a furry hate phase, because they see something they find interesting or looks fun, but then they see the people making fun of it, so to try to make it seem like they don’t find it interesting, they make fun of it too, I at least totally went through a furry hate phase

I lovee furries when I first saw them and even had a fursona but then I was more or less peer pressured to this cringe culture shit and started hating furries. But after I got older a little my views neutralized a bit and recently I got into fursuiting :D

I hate hate hate that news clip. How the hell do you laugh like that after saying people were taken to the hospital. I mean i understand not understanding the fandom hell a lot of people dont and thats okay the fandom is odd as a furry i know its odd, but id expect for the news or anyone reporting on it to understand the severity and gravity of that situation. 14 taken to the hospital. Lives could have been lost. And here they are giggling like a gaggle of school girls. Absolutely disgusting. Id have fired someone on the spot.

As a therian and a furry, that is accurate yes. I believe I was another animal in a past life, and that part is still with me. I don't know how to explain it, that's just who I am. It's completely separate from me being a furry.

I am doing research about furrys for a video and one thing I've noticed is that a lot of it has to do with stereotypes(btw the video will be about why furrys should be celebrated as a representation of human creativity, not that they should be feared because they are just as human as the rest)
