hun don't even compare yourself to people, Sarahs Day is PREGNANT and let me tell ya that is a lot easier then actually having a crying, screaming, vomiting, pooping, 100% dependant on you lil human you have to take care of. i had a very complicated pregnancy and birth and i still found it easier than having a little human hanging off my hip, not that I'm complaining at all! Plus you of all people should know this is youtube and she is probably not as put together as you'd think behind closed doors and who know how she will handle a little human when its here. You are doing AMAZINGLY! keep doing you. ❤️

@@authoralaskawalters depends on the person, it's a sensitive area so using soap even on the outside can disrupt the area for some people. If you shower daily and are a clean person it shouldn't need a scrub or soap really lol but again depends on each individual :)

Who knows if you will ever even see this, but.. I literally live in Arizona (US) and think you are such an inspiration! Like I literally watch your videos on a weekly basis. I'm 21 years old and I used to nanny 2 little girls. After nannying, I decided I wanted to become a delivery nurse. I decided to stay in tonight rather than going out. I watched your first video, then your most recent videos with Forest. It was such an inspiration to see you become such a great mum, and STILL keep focused on yourself. Who knows if you will ever even read this, but I am purely writing this with the goal of empowering you. xoxo YOU ARE AMAZING

I think you’re doing a great job of “keeping all your shit together”, and so patient! Forrest reminds me a lot of my Son, 1st he’s gorgeous, 2nd he’s perfect and 3rd he’s fussy 75% of his wakeful hours...😓 Literally fought sleep, fussed and cried while he was awake unless I was feeding him or holding him (bouncing him around). All I can say is you’ve got a beautiful family and you’re a wonderful Mommy 😘, and the fussiness will go away...my Son started being more content around the 7 month mark, I hope sooner for u. Routine started around 3/4 month. My Daughter was easy peasy from the start...Forrest actually seemed to be so much “happier/content” in this Vlog xoxo!

Routine for us I reckon started at 3 months old- our baby girl is now five months old :) and still i'm not strict, I just base things off how she is going. I would say her routine has got much more predictable and easy from four months to now. Have a look at the raising children website- look at sleep/awake schedules for the age of baby and base off that. We are doing solids so that is a big part of routine too.. but generally nap in the morning, two in the afternoon.. or just one and an earlier bed time. Bed time is always 7-8pm. but i go off her tired signs and when i think she will be ready too. I would say dont stress till you've reached that three month mark xx

Research feed, play, sleep routine! Also research the awake time for forests age and really try to stick to that time frame. Whilst implementing a routine it’s important to stay home so try to avoid going out too much so it doesn’t disrupt the routine. It can take a while to work so don’t stress if the routine doesn’t go smoothly at first. I think I started a routine around 2-3 months old!

With my little girl I've had the same night routine ever since I came home from hospital, she goes to bed at the same time every night we do swaddle, bottle and straight to bed I put her in her bassinet awake so she learns to put herself to sleep she's now 5 and a half months and self settles and puts herself to sleep every night ☺️ Good luck mumma you'll get there!

My biggest thing that helped with routine was when we started Bath (with a bedtime bath then followed by an oil or lotion), bottle, burp and then bed, at around the same time each night. With our little man it took sometime before he figured out he could nap for decent stretches during the day, but I found that when we started the bedtime routine everything kinda slowly fell into place.😊

I have 5 month old twins and we do bath at 5.30, feed, story and then in bed by 6.30. We've done this routine since they were about 6-8 weeks old. They sleep until about 6am now (with 1-2 wake ups in that period). Then once they wake up we do a feed, a play and sometimes another feed before going down for a nap. Our babies stay awake for about 2 hours between naps (so they have 3 naps per day now) however when they were younger they had 4. At Forest's age they would only be awake for about 1 hour 15 mins before they would be very grumpy and ready for a nap 😊 They also would have 3-4 wake ups per night at his age. Hope this helps! 🤗💗 Good luck you're doing great xxxx

My son is 6 months now and we started a routine at 3 months and it has helped so much, we do bath bottle bed, I’m strict with sometimes time wise I can be 20 mins early or 20 minutes late but the actual routine is always the same, when I’m getting him changed at night I rub a night cream into him and it sounds horrible but they say to not stimulate them, after the bath when they get changed and have a bottle don’t talk or even look to much at them and keep the room dark, I do defiantly think you wrapped him to much and i think it might be like a different country thing in the uk we don’t do that so much but try a sleeping bag if they do them in Australia? Your going great just keep calm and don’t stress hun xx

I started at 4 months old getting my son into a routine of bath, bottle, book then bed. All in dimmed lighting. starts at 5.30pm and he is asleep by 6pm. He sleeps all through the night and wakes up at 5.30am everyday. Then you keep routine throughout the day so he naps every 2 hrs from when he wakes and feeds every 3hrs. Now he is 6 months old and everything is like clockwork. Every baby is different though. But I do suggest to start routine at 4 months cause that's when they are able to sleep through the night without feeds.

I've had 3 and although they have all been very different, by the 3rd I knew with the busy life I had, I had to have him in a routine so from day 1 I tried to do things like put him into bed without rocking, patting etc so he learnt how to go to sleep by himself which helped heaps. I also lived by the feed play sleep routine so he wouldn't fall asleep on the boob as a sleep aide. The biggest thing I found is that they sleep better at night if they sleep better and have a better routine during the day. I had a kid in school so I had to basically do a routine around that which was hard. I loosely went off the 'save our sleep' routine- not big on doing it to the minute, but it gave a good idea on routines for their age and it seemed to work. Good luck, each aged comes with different difficulties unfortunately. And sometimes just when you think you have worked it out they decide they don't like it anymore- the growth spurts are a killer! Lol

In regards to the sleep/routine etc.. My first boy was quite difficult.. Very up and down with naps. I did do things at set times and follow a schedule if you like. However with my second son, he had heaps going on with him (silent reflux, cows milk allergy, among other things that made life a tad more difficult for him), and so I actually paid for a sleep consultant to come and help us when he was around 3 months (as although the nights weren’t too bad since he was so exhausted, the days were TERRIBLE). It did wonders!! The biggest things out of what she recommended that I truly believed made all the difference were as follows: 1. Use black out blinds (baby or adult, we need darkness to sleep deeply and effectively) 2. Weather permitting, make sure your bubba has some outdoor time, or lots of natural light, in the 30-60 minutes before their nap. This helps stimulate the sleep hormone (although I do think this is most affective after 4 months). 3. 10 minutes before their nap, have quiet time with them in a very dim/dark area (I used to do this by just sitting in my sons room in the glider chair, singing nursery rhymes very quietly. I had the lights off, but would leave the door open so some light would filter through). This helps them wind down and get sleepy. 4. White noise. I don’t know if this actually helps get them to sleep faster, or stay asleep longer, but it definitely helps to dull out other noise outside the room that could startle them (for me, it helped to dull out the noise of my loud toddler banging his toys about haha.) 5. Make sure you put them down at set times. It doesn’t need to be to the very second or minute, but just around the same time each day. It helps to set their body clocks. I did all these things and have had a great sleeper since (my second son is now almost 14 months). I know you have said you are finding tough because you like to get out the house (& I feel you on that), but having them in a routine actually does help you get out the house as you know exactly when you can get out and about each day - rather than whinging it each day. For instance, with my first who wasn’t in such a great routine, I found that I never knew quite what to expect from him each day and therefore it was hard to plan things or be prepared. My second on the other hand, once he had a stable routine, I could easily plan exactly what times I could get out and about (& be prepared with snacks/bottles etc), and I knew that once I got back and gave him some quiet time, he’d go to sleep no worries. It def made life easier. Good luck! You’ll know doubt find your own rhythm soon enough :)
