I always come back to Gary Neville’s comments about when he managed in the Spanish league, he felt he was not on the level of the other managers and they didn’t think much of him.. I think Southgate is similar in that respect. He doesn’t have the levels needed for high level football. Also in response to Gary’s thinking that we would do better against the better teams.. we’ve won only 7 of the last 27 games against top opposition.

When Mainoo and palmer came on it was brilliant. When palmer had the ball it was exciting he was creating chances and then Gordon came on (for like 4 minutes) and the team was complete. That has to be our main team.

Personally, I would struggle to give them 3 out of 10 in the first half and 4 out of 10 in the second half. It’s also difficult to decide if we were worse or not against Denmark - at least we did snatch a goal in that game, but the players were so sloppy and lethargic (the first game against Serbia wasn’t anything to shout about either!). We should have easily won this game. I read another comment which mentioned that as soon as we get the ball, all the players become static - everyone off the ball becomes a statue and no one makes a run and creates space to play the ball forward. Inevitably, the ball then has to go backward and then back to Pickford - the process then starts again. Every team who plays us knows that they can easily keep a clean sheet if they get every player behind the ball - there’s no way we can break down a team. They then wait for us to play a sloppy ball, which they then exploit and snatch a goal!

I think the fact that we'd already qualified prior to the game didn't help, I see this as being tactical to not burn the team out. Southgate's got to drop either Foden or Bellingham and Saka. Mainoo is a no brainer. I'd also pick Trent at RB and Walker at LB. The Netherlands will give us more space than the other teams we played. I'll say now is judgement time. I honestly think this could be England's biggest ever humiliation. All the media have made the poor quality team nervous and someone will make a mistake. Laughing and slaggin off Scotland and now it's your turn.

The first 20 mins of last match, they could have conceded, and the defence looked shaky. The only real confidence I have is with Pickford in goal. Garry Neville will always praise Southgate because they are mates. He is the wrong person to be asking about how well did England do, as he will never stare the truth in the face and say what everyone else is thinking because more often than not, he does not know what he is talking about. Southgate was suppose to prepare this amazing squad of players after the World Cup ended and he has had 2 years to establish his first 11. He uses players throughout the two years and drops some of them and brings in new players that have never played together with the rest of the regulars. So, now we don't even know what is our best 11. He is still experimenting.

At this stage of the comp, teams are eyeing each other up, trying to figure out who the favourites are. Teams *should* be intimidated by the quality of players we have. But they;re not; teams are going to be confident coming to us because the manager is scared and weak. The players are confused and demoralized; some are showing frustrations with the manager already. We’re easy picking for the next stage IMO, all because the manager is completely out of his depth

With everyone calling for it, if southgate WAS to name gordon and palmer in the starting line-up in your next game against slovakia, and yous do well, it will make him look even MORE incompetent than he does already.
