Well done, Sam. This video convinced me to get a longline. Oddly, I thought the sit start would be my go-to, but I just kinda naturally got the chonga. And, at 150-175 ft, I got those stupid shakes lol. I can’t wait to get out on it again; I relaxed on it a few times. I felt pressure to make each attempt awesome bc I had to chonga onto it and I didn’t want to waste a run (which made me tense and caused more shakes). Just gotta relax

Hi Travis! Yeah, you gotta work out your way of mounting. Chongo is super solid, but just remember to keep the knee straight. In case you feel any pain in your knee, take a rest and practice again 1-2 days later. Keep having fun ;-)

Hey! I just bought my first longline set, I'm really looking forward to use it. By the way, thanks for your tutorials and all your videos! I have a longline-beginner-question. What's the height that you would recommend to start with a longline? I see people usually set longlines quite high, but I don't think this is a good idea for me to start. In my case, my webbing is 50m long (a maverick) and I got a regular pulley system (two pullies), just in case it's necessary to know. Thanks and slack well!

Just play around with length and height. Don't go higher as necessary at the beginning. And every time you rig you can go a few centimeters higher until you feel good also on slightly higher lines. Also change the tension a bit every time so you can figure out what tension you like and what tricks are possible on what tension.

what about the reference point? Nobody look at the end of a 240m line.

I`d like to get myself a longline, I have a 15, and 30 meter slackline already.Is there a type of line and length you would recommend? I love your video`s!

Hey Rolf, it really depends what you wanna do in Slacklining. For Jumplining there is no reason to go longer. If you wanna walk long lines in the park, I would recommend Marathon or Marathon Play 50-100m. If your goal is rather to go highlining, then get something high-stretch. RedTube 50-80m. For highlining or waterlining you should absolutely get the HangOver Pulley System. Don't take something too long because it will become heavy and more work to use. So really stay between 50 and 100m.

You can find all the necessary gear on slacktivity.com. To get started with a 35m line that is not too expensive I recommend the white lightning traveler kit.

Thanks you so much for responding to my comment on a previous video and I was just wondering if it's normal to feel like I'm making no progress. I can only balance on each leg for about 15 seconds but I really struggle walking, is this normal and will it be solved with more practice?
@SlacktivityCh
@SlacktivityCh 8 жыл бұрын
Hey Michael, progress often comes in waves. Sometimes you don't feel progress for days, and after that there is huge progress in only a very short period of time! So keep going and just try doing different things with your body position and see how it affects your performance to then figure out what is the best way for you to balance..! Good luck ;-)
