Just found your channel and love the content and the fun in which you are clearly having! For your clear bases, if you have a small fan or blow dryer with a cool setting you can set it up and as you glue the bases set them in front of the fan/ dryer, the air flow will keep the plastic from fogging!

I've used a slap chop method here and there but I find it works great when trying to paint metal.

Looks pretty darn good for only 2-3 hours for 10 models. I'm planning to use the slapchop method for my AoS KruleBoyz army. Can't wait!

I honestly find this technique so well. I haven't been able to do a proper zenithal with spray cans. I'd rather get these dry brushed and paint over with thin or water down contrast paints.

If you want to play a simplified version of KILL TEAM, play the one in the 4th ed book. No expensive tokens to buy.

I would suggest Death Guard. You can get a box of 7, and you only need 6. I think you would have a great time painting them as they have little tentacles and stuff breaking through their armor.

I'm not sure, but I would highly suggest makeup brushes you can find a bunch of them really cheap on Amazon and they're fantastic for that sort of work

Looking good, that's a great result for limited time invested. If you're looking for suggestions on another team, the Legionaries are pretty cool and I'd love to see how they looked with this style of painting.

Start using squares of double stick tape or museum putty to hold them on the cork. Easier remove and the stick lasts several models.

Ive used blue tac before but you lose part of the model inside the stuff, prefer using rods in their feet if big enough of a drop of glue =)

I know I am late to the party for this video, but my gosh you have done an amazing job with these. I never thought to dry bush in the beginning as opposed to the end. I am just now getting into kill team myself, and you inspired me to pull the trigger on the pathfinders. Your son is very lucky to have such a cool and thoughtful father!

Ive never varnished anything lol, normal paints go over speed paints just fine =)

You can paint parts silver, then speed paints and get metallic color, gold, pewter, bronze, and brass.

i think you mentioned in the stream about into the dark, i'd definitely like to see you do the kroot like this. one thing that bugs me about the colors on the pathfinders, the blue feels wayyyy too colorful. i checked army painter, and they really don't have anything in the speedpaint range that's quite the same as tau skin (more toned down, almost grayish), but GW has "space wolves gray" which is pretty much that. Alternatively, if you don't want to rely on existing contrast/speedpaints, you can get lahmian medium from GW and mix that with whatever color to make your own contrast paint

You could also just dry brush the skin with grey/beige after doing the speed paint, or thin it down with medium. This blue does look really dark and it lost some of the detail of the faces that were highlighted.

Yeah the blue was a tad dark for my liking but my son likes it lol, I should be getting my box set monday and will be doing lots of livestreams with me assembling and painting =)

Probably not best to compare Tau sizes to Primaris Intercessors. Primaris Space Marines tower over regular humans. Compare them to the Guard models you got from the original Kill Team 2e box.

Enjoy I did the same with my son's Death korps kill team. More to get him interested in 40k than to be 100% accurate.

Just started watching your videos. something you may want to try is to zenithal prime the model and then wash/shade then dry brush white before you apply your contrast paints. Pro Tip: if your doing yellow don't use black base primer as it turns green. use brown instead and wash with agrax.

I tried the slap chop technique on my Space Wolves Intercession Squad and they turned out so dark you can barley tell they are blue.....😑

You might need to thin down your paint with water or (preferably) gel medium. Sometimes the high saturation can make things look a bit off.

Are maybe try again if possible, sometimes when i do the dry brushing, once its dried I dry brush again just so its a very light grey and then do the white dry brushing =)

A paint brush is now called a Ginsu knife. Slap chop ain't new. Its a quick zenithal or pre-highlighting way of painting miniatures that's been done for decades.
