For the record they were definitely making a statement with this album. All the big metal bands were getting more radio friendly and accessible and they put out something really aggressive to show they were still thrash.

Well, Slayer were not happy w/ the record... it came at a difficult time - producer Rick Rubin was M.I.A. during the sessions... Dave Lombardo (drums) was out, replaced by Paul Bostaph... and they weren't sure if the new songs were any good. Still, the album went top 10 in the charts, but after that, Slayer's popularity crashed in the 90's - the punk covers record 'Undisputed attitude' and the next album 'Diabolus in musica' both failed commercially.

This was also a direct reaction of the LA scene at the time. We had the riots in 1992, which was a result of course of the legal system not doing what it should have in the first place. The anger and aggression expressed in the song was really indicative of the scene in Los Angeles in the very early 90's.

I am waiting for you guys to react to some more of the lesser known stoner metal/desert rock stuff. I just recently started getting into the sun-genre a few years back, and I know you both seemed to dig Kyuss. I'd love to see what you guys think of groups like Red Fang, Truckfighters, All Them Witches, 1000Mods, The Sword, etc. Much love and keep on jamming! Also- Bear down. 🐻

You remember the Oakland Raiders? They wore those jerseys during this video. Dave Lombardo(drummer) wasn't on this album. A more recent one with Dave, and guitarist Jeff Hanneman's last album, had a video in 2013 "World Painted Blood". Lots of changes through that one

I love the chaotic energy of this song!! Also contains my fav Kerry King solo. But I hear what you're saying. For someone not really into metal, it can be overwhelming. Fictional Reality might be a better song for you guys. Also, Carcass - Heartwork!!!

I love you guys. I've been watching your videos off and on for well over a year now. I love the fact that you're admittedly not originally metal fans, but you're both willing to expand your horizons and learn about metal music. I feel like you've also developed a respect for the metal community as well. And that's just awesome. Slayer is my favorite band and I've watched a couple of your Slayer reaction videos. Dittohead is a great song. I respect your opinion, George, in that you don't like the really fast paced pseudo-punk beats. But I also dig that you still respect Slayer and you've been able to find a couple of songs that you dig on by them. I'm in two bands - Skrog and Skull Fuckers Incorporated. Both bands have songs on a Slayer tribute album that was released just over a month ago. All the bands on the album brought their A game to the record. Skrog even covered South of Heaven, which I believe was a Slayer tune you both dug. I'd like for you to check out my other band - Skull Fuckers Incorporated's cover of the Slayer song Dead Skin Mask. It's a slower song with lots of groove. I really would like your guys' opinions on how we did on the song. You're becoming experts now at metal. A review, or even just a quick response here would be awesome. I don't think you guys have reviewed any bands covering the classic metal bands that you're making videos about. Check out the video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z9Skq9eEnMywdWQ.html You can stream or download the full tribute album Forever Reigning - A Tribute To Slayer at any major streaming and digital platform, or you can get physical copies from the Satyrn Studios website www.satyrnstudios.com. If y'all want, I'd be happy to send you a free download link for the album. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

This is the first Slayer album I heard so I have a soft spot for it. I wouldn’t say it’s their best album, but it has a very specific rough punk aspect that makes it stand out in their catalog.

Possibly the most underrated album from a " big name" metal band ever. . I wish it would get remastered and re-released.

This is a very good point and think has a lot to do with certain peoples' inability to get into more aggressive/fast music. It's all about catharsis!

What I always appreciated about Slayer getting into a groove in the middle of a song was it gave me time to catch my breath when in the pit going nutz!

In every metal band - if you see a song ending with "-head", it's probably the fast, punkish filler song.

A "dittohead" is a supporter of an idea that is so fanatical they can't see the negative attributes of what they believe in. ...but what you said is right on also.

This was their first release w/o arguably the greatest thrash drummer of all time. Personally I was incredibly excited to hear Paul on this cd as Forbidden was in my personal 'The Other Big Four' along with Exodus, Testament and Death Angel.
