Great to see that you guys are starting right at the beginning of their journey - you guys are in for a ride I wish I would love to experience once again! Something to also keep in mind is that the first EP was entirely written by Vessel the singer, so all the drums, keys, synths, guitar, etc. are all done by him. From the EP Two, II joins as the second official member and drummer of the band so I'd just say keep that in mind when you get there!

Sleep Token's discography consists of: 2 EPs (One in 2016, Two in 2017) , 3 non-album singles (Jaws, Hey Ya, & The Way That You Were, all in 2018), and 3 albums (Sundowning in 2019, This Place Will Become Your Tomb in 2021, and Take Me Back To Eden in 2023). There is also a song called Shelter, which Vessel performed in From The Room Below sessions, an acoustic piano set of Sleep Token songs and cover versions. There's also a live recording of a performance of Hallelujah. I'm really looking forward to watching you both take this journey. Stay safe 🤘 ✌️

Hello again, I love that you’re starting the Sleep Token journey right from the beginning. It will really help you understand the story or Lore. You’ve been introduced to Vessel’s original mask. The video is heavy with symbolism, and is considered to be the ‘birth’ of Vessel. Of course it’s all open to interpretation. Really enjoyed your reactions and am looking forward to ‘Fields of Elation’. W O R S H I P

So from my interpretation of the Lore (and I have spent a lot of time trying to iron this out and every day I learn something new) Thread The Needle is the cold open to the entire story. The scene opens on Sleep coming to a man. Now Sleep is an ancient deity and he assumes the shape of a Goddess. Sleep can kind of morph your dreams into what you want them to be. The man will henceforth be known as Vessel. Vessel is unhappy, he is lonely, he is feeling worthless, he is empty (hence the name). Sleep is not what she seems and wants Vessel for herself, to do this she coerces Vessel to take his own life. He sees his life as worthless and willingly commits suicide in order to be with this Goddess. This is probably over some time of wearing Vessel down in the quiet moments. In the dark when he is alone. The voice is Sleep in the beginning promising pleasure and escape from the world he hates so much. We hear a layering of the two voices before the drop as Vessel becomes connected to Sleep. Then the drop happens as Vessel carves into himself trying to attempt suicide. This transports Vessel to another dimension: the realm of sleep. Our story begins.

So glad to see you guys starting from the beginning and working your way through! It is quite a journey and an emotional one at that, and it will leave you with more questions than answers, lol! However, I love the mystery of it all and trying to interpret Vessels lyrics! Everything sleep token does is with intention and immaculate attention to detail..it all ties together! I haven’t read through all the comments, so someone may have already mentioned this, Vessel and II are the only ones credited on the albums. The other members are the stage members unless that changes in the future! So vessel does all of the instruments and vocals, and II on drums! Enjoy your journey and worship! 🫶🏻 I’ll be here for the entire ride! 😅🙌🏻
