What a great looking square car. I miss usable cars. One of the reason for owning a Forester - the trunk is square and tall, so I can fit a lot.

Those Isuzus were trash here in the states. For those of us who lived in the north or salt belt states know that’s these rotted away the first winter. I remember these as a kid back in the 90s seeing the Honda, Nissan, and Infiniti versions. My childhood friends mom had the Honda version. When modded, you can keep up on the trails with the wrangler back then.

No particular surprise. With no lock, or even a simple limited slip differential on the front and/or rear axles, and no traction control... This is often the case with cars from the 80s and 90s, including off-road vehicles. Hence the presence on the market of many accessory manufacturers who offer solutions.

That's why we called that _fun on rollers_ , not _test on rollers_ 🙂

Very predictable results for what they are if their drivetrains remain completely OE. These vehicles are meant to work best off road with differential locks anyway. One thing those SUVs will never have over these vehicles is the absolutely superior ground clearance, wheel travel and tyres for off road use, no amount of drive train and electronic wizardry can fix lack of space and movement.

yet they get stuck on a roller :D hahahaahahahaha open diff sucks!!!

Really a Isuzu. Came to Australia as a Holden, Europe as a Opel/Vauxhall etc.

I remember seeing these back when i was around 10 and i have always wondered how tough off-roader these must have been. But now, 20 years later I sometimes go off-roading with local clubs with my Jimny and literately no ones have these. They are utterly garbage as seems to appear and they all disappeared from road.

In my country, many people ride them. Diesel with good torque. Most importantly, there are differential lock. In the video, cars without differential lock. Strange.

@@uflgeer Stock Frontera A doesn't have any diff locks. Frontera B had an optional lsd rear diff, but it doesn't help much off road.

There was always the selection of the diffs and how those diffs were being set up (locking ratio etc.). That said, traction and stability systems for 4WD systems didn't exist until around the mid-2000s......

True and Frontera, aka Isuzu Trooper, did have a selector. But, apparently, it's no LR Defender or Toyota Land Cruiser. Or we will see the real test soon

@@dimitu_ If I remember correctly the Trooper could be optionally equipped with rear LSD but not a true locking diff. There was also no front locking diff option available but that was understandable, as having front LSD (or locking diff) could hinder overall handling (steering etc.) esp. on normal onroad conditions......

Niektóre Frotki mają LSD na tylnym moście. Moja z LSD w automacie, starym hydrokinetyku i ogromnym deficycie mocy, na mokrych rondach baaardzo chętnie pupa uciekała. Chętnie bym taką na rolkach zobaczył.

Just wondering if these vehicles had anything to do with Isuzu's design?
@Softroader2 жыл бұрын
The Opel Frontera is an Isuzu Amigo/Rodeo/MU depending on the country and often with different engines. There are many other variations under many other brands; Chevrolet, Holden, Honda, and so on. It's the same thing with the Opel Monterey which is an Isuzu Trooper.
