Well. Nothing went right with this one. I failed to record good audio, the filming was a bit sporadic and therefore editing took longer than I wanted it to…. But you know what. I kinda dig how this one turned out.
I can’t wait for the future as I continue to heal this knee and also grow as a creator and rider in 2020. I hope you subscribe to my Channel! Hit that ''🔔’’!!! Next month I’ll be traveling somewhere specifically to Onewheel and film for the first time in a long time… (Can you guess where I’m gonna go first?). There’s a lot to look forward to this year and I’m just barely getting my Float legs back after the 6 brutal months of ACLR recovery....

Some of those icy paths look gnarly. And there was me thinking the wet leaves that I commute over were sketchy! No one watching this would think that you had major surgery last year - you still seem fearless when mixing it up with the commuter traffic. Stay safe.

Maaaaan, the 360 is made for the chaos of the city. The edits you were throwing down on that part made me sit up in my seat. Getting all those angles while you maneuvered around cars was so sick!

Love the vid, your riding and everything you put into it all. I agree about that really wide, warped camera angle- I keep the 360 close most of the time for a more real/less warped look. I do like a few slightly warped shots, but that's just to mix it up a little and keep things interesting. So glad to have you back riding and making content.

What mode and settings do you have your OneWheel configured at so that you ride as fast as you do/can and not nose dive? You should do a beginners video using your wisdom and advise.

SlyDogStroh is correct. He does have the camera skills we all prefer. I don't know where he gets his music but it's as if it were the perfect track for each outing. I agree with you on the 360 camera use. I personally can't bring myself to use one,even still. I want a rectilinear framing, so I went with the Hero 8 and just practice a bit framing it without looking. Nice ride sir. Take care of yourself. 👍

Lots and lots of miles on Onewheels. I understand the XR motor pretty well at this point. So I can feel when the motor is working harder than normal and prepare to adjust.

Also putting a deal of time on a balance board helps too: Helps build the muscle memory for keeping the roller (wheel) centered under you always.

I agree, I don't like the _tiny planet_ 360 footy either, or at least not then entire time. I prefer a normal 16:9 format, but I would be interested in a full 360 tour of _Chicago_ from you 👊

I weigh 170 right now. Tire pressure pretty much always set to 20PSI. Cold weather can drop the tire pressure so I make sure to top it off every couple of weeks or so.

Yo Sly, no doubt for you passing that pedestrian on the park path at 3:34 will have seemed observant and slow enough, but I just think that folks will be happiest if we crawl past them, like matching their speed basically, especially when it's a narrow path like that one, if it's passing a few meters away then perhaps a voiced alert and perhaps a jogging pace, hey just my opinion man.

LeninFPV I think it’s just for Apple AirPods. If you want to use a rode mic or something you still have to plug in the rode transmitter to the camera...one day tho hopefully!

Might want to invest in a balaclava. Also what are your thoughts on a snowboard helmet for riding Onewheel? My thoughts are renovable insulation and ease of using goggles with the helmet.

My only issue with snow helmets are that a lot of them are not rated for concrete impacts, only snow. I usually follow the impact ratings and get once that is certified for one good concrete slam.

Yea I definitely feel less power under 20 degrees F. This ride had a strong headwind too that I was battling the whole commute. Those goggles saved my eyes haha.

@@adamskiNZ the trick is storing them indoors before you start your ride. I've been riding my pint everyday through as cold as -40°C weather with no issues.

If you record your rides with an app like Strava, you could get you speed at any given point in time. You could use use that to overlay a speedometer on the vids, which I think would be awesome!

Big one is investing in Sidekicks and floatplates so that If you ever want to sell the board it will look brand new. Part of what I love about the board is that it’s so maintenance free and simple. Just have fun shredding! Also griptape it a MUST imo. TFL has all the shit you need, that’s why we partner so closely.

Good to see you back on board. Are you using a vega tire or something else? I tried going over some slush once and as soon as I felt some sliding I "noped" out. This tempts me to try again. (I probably should change tires soon anyway...I got 2600 miles on mine)

Floating through pushback is very sus for most riders... 11:07 is a good example of 'if you don't have this type of reaction time, stick below the max'. What speeds do you achieve fighting pushback?

what are you recommendations to ride like you without worrying about nosedives or wheel lockups? How does one get to ride that fast and not have Fangs installed in case of a nose dip? This is why I'm on the fence on this and EUC (from Gotway, MSP)

Well I have about 25,000 miles on Onewheels starting from the V1 about 5 years ago. So lots of experience. Personally I prefer Onewheel because I like the Board-sport feel over the unicycles.

It’s a 360 camera. It records all angles at once. You pick your perspective in post.
