Some super impressive skills and routing - kept thinking "wow, that was a really great strat" for each new video, and then it got better! Seriously in awe at NIS's approach. Great stuff, all!

That's how most people start out! You only learn by doing and these competitions are a great way to give you a goal. I mean, last place was 55 seconds on this one.

Fun fact: this was my first TAS of SM64 and I placed 19th, joining last minute and doing the entire run in a few hours on one night

Task 1 was decided on optimization and micro-routing, this was decided on routing. I guess with this task there's a lot of freedom in how to approach it.

You can try working it out yourself in a text editor. There are nine coins collected, three colors, and no color is collected consecutively. An example order would be yrbyrbyry. Another could be yryryrbyb. You could put the blue coin first, even, with byryryryb. Another way of putting it is that you have nine positions to put nine colored balls, with four yellows, three reds, and two blues. That means there are 36 possible positions for the blue balls, 84 positions for the reds, and yet more for the yellows. Type out the numbers 1 through 9 in a line, and four ys underneath, putting in and removing spaces between and counting the positions until you've seen all possible combinations, and you'll get it. Then, do it again, for all colors, and you'll see how many combinations result in consecutive numbers (9 for blue) and subtract that from the total possible combinations, and you should have something at least close to what you're looking for.

He wrote a script that would load a savestate at the start with a different RNG value and let that run until he got the perfect RNG. That's probably why its so high

Rating the video, this seemed very repeated. Simply to hit the 5 minute mark for Ads. I wish you would not sellout. otherwise I was not a fan of the music it seemed very 90s, it is 2018 like come on. Then there is the writing at the beginning I thought I my eyes were broken and had to see an optometrist but no it was the font you used. Dislike. PS I win.

Mister Shots -_- I don't even know where to start. So, no. The TASers simply did the similar method. Why would you think they copied one TASer's run and pasted it to the others? And you hate the font and the music. You disliked for two opinions.
