THIS is a neat setup. It's close to the back of the tractor so that it's not lifting the front wheels like what would happen on the ATV. Ya gotta have the logs as far forward as possible. A 4x4 tractor would be a better choice because you could leave it in four wheel drive so you could have some braking action with the front wheels. Most two wheel drive tractors don't have brakes on the front wheels.(As you can probably tell, I live in steeper country) All in all, this guys has some good ideas.

Looks to me that the pulling is concentrated through the chains from the drawbar - so helping the stability...

Get a 3poiny Crane and a set of logging tongs. It's simple and u can use it for a lot of things. What's wrong with a drawbar and a tlr ball with a device from TSC to keep the drawbar from spinning.

Safety Police here. I don't recommend removing the ROPS ever. Especially if you're doing this kind of work.

Bar tires, or R1. They do look similar to something Kubota is now developing that I have on my B2301, supposedly having the traction of R1 mixed with the ground treatment of R3.

They say you're not supposed to pull from the 3 point hitch ... can cause backwards rollover ... and death

That's why he had the chains on it as well if the tires lift the chains tighten near the bottom of the tractor preventing the backwards rollover

They say you're not supposed to pull from the 3 point hitch ... can cause backwards rollover ... and death. Other than that ... seems neat!

The three point hitch is literally made for pulling implements.

The three point hitch is literally made for pulling implements that are on the ground. Pulling a load that is that high is not what three point hitches are made for. You're raising the center of gravity on the tractor a lot when you do that. This is why tractors have draw bars. With that being said, as long as you take it slow and pay attention to what is going on you should be okay.

Correct me if I'm wrong here but dont the choker and chains eliminate the need for a draw bar?
