Richard, you have the best channel on fishing that's on KZfaq. As the church's Bishop, I also enjoy how you honor God. That is very hard to find in our day. I've said this before, but you cost me a lot of money trying to imitate you in the ways you fish. I have followed your advice on many species of fish. Two years ago, I caught my PB of a 10 lb. Large Jaw. My crappie catches have increased extensively. I want to target larger Bluegill this season. I've been successful like many others, but they have yet to be consistently large. I can do the technical pages about fishing, but I like your down-to-earth-speak techniques...because...It's a sport "second to none." And I always go fishing whenever I can, because it's good fer me. I would like to talk to others on this channel. I have suffered PTSD from Vietnam for many years and, in seeing a psychologist for the past eight years, affirm that fishing is a healer for depression. I found it to be true. I couple that with Richard Gene the Fishing Machine and your humor! God Bless.

Richard - I want you to try that Nikko hellgrammite on a 1/8 oz drop shot with a #1 mosquito or octopus hook. Nose hook that bugger and you'll see it has more natural action in the water. That big hook keeps the bait very rigid. With the nose hook, the whole bait will undulate and wiggle around. It'll always nose into the current and look really sleek. I know you'll like it because fishing is good fer 'ya! Happy Fathers' Day to you, good sir!

Hey Richard, I just wanna say that I support using lighter equipment for bass. Back in the old days, sport anglers used the lightest equipment possible. Now it's all governed by tournament style fishing, and that often means skiing in bass on a medium heavy rod. But giving a fish a better chance with light gear and you'll have a better time...

The small mouth love 1/8 oz white crappie jigs with a white ribbon tail grub. Put trophy bass on it works awesome. It looks like a highly visible baitfish with procure a quality attractant bass will bite. 😊❤

I use a 6 inch leader with a size 1 2 or 4 baitholder hook. Then a moderate size split shot. Then i put on trophy bass by procure on a 3 inch hellgamite and smallies crush it. 😊❤

Those Nikko hellgrammites are like candy for small mouth I just got a package of 4.25 in natural color ones I won from their Facebook page
