I purchase this doorbell to help deter bad guys from thinking about breaking into my house. This smart-door bell can run off battery power for about 8 to 12 months according to the amazon description. Super easy to install, I did battery only install because my doorbell power isn't working in my house. I installed the batteries then uploaded the app onto my phone. There is a very small screw that should stop it being removed except by a fair degree of force but then you will have a nice picture (or even a short video) of the thief anyway

@@fayebarrett3825 adding a new phone is easy. Just download the app on the additional phone. open the app on the original phone and connect to the bell (you should be able to see the live video). Then press the share button (top right corner). Then press the + button. A QR code will be generated. Go to the additional phone and press add in the Tosee app and select scan QR code to scan the QR code that was generated by the original phone. Once it's scanned, the bell will be added and can be used in the additional phone.

In my area the batteries are VERY expensive. approx $10 per battery. Go to EBAY and look for the NON flat top batteries. much less expensive.

I added battery pack plugged into unit using a cable not included - had to drill hole to make access for cable - we recharge or replace with second battery pack when low - last much longer than using just the two batteries

Wired unit to old bell button wires. Unit works great doing as claimed by activating my cell phone but house system does not activate...what didn't I do. My existing house chimes are electro-mechanical.

This is a great video, but not a good door bell. The batteries last about a day or two only and then you have to take it apart, take out the batteries and get a battery charger that will recharge the batteries.

You slide it off of the mount then take the cover off of the back and the batteries go in that part.

I run it now for 3 weeks and the power is at 80%. Before I used include PIR. Then the batteries are empty after 10 days. Try to switch off the PIR if you don`t need it.

Not really. Ring uses a subscription based system, forcing you to pay monthly for basic cloud storage. This uses local storage saved on an SD card and easily accessible.

great video :) thanks! i wandering how long the batteries would last if i just use it to check who is at the door when the main doorbell is rung since i am upstairs most of the time and. so it would be simply to activate the camera through my phone and see who is at the door. I dont need it to be triggered due to movements by the door.

There is no fee with this model. I automatically saves to the built in card, you save also press "save video" while talking to someone at your door and that video will be saved directly to your phone.

Re-connecting to the ToSee App is impossible with out the doorbell being physically pushed. So if I want to update preferences or just view front door thru the App I have to go out and push the doorbell, that sucks! If not the timer display icon just spins & spins!

That’s what you get with WiFi battery powered devices, they can’t be continually connected to WiFi or the batteries will last as long as on your cellphone, which sucks.

Marko Krekic The ss card is in the unit and hidden well. It is 5GB card and once filled it will dump and start over again fresh. 5GB is a lot of rings so no worries. If you want to save them on phone put it on Cloud.

Xp3erynce ... You can connect to the doorbell at any time just to spy through the camera and then just press record.

Xp3erynce It will videotape for 15 seconds after pushed and that time can be changed up to 45 seconds once you have set it up. If you are hard wired then that's not a concern but if on batteries then they will deplete a lot faster at 45 seconds.

Xp3erynce Well, Kind of. At anytime you might want to peek outside just open your App. You will see a still photo which is actually the end of your ringer. Click on the middle of that photo and you got to hit it pretty hard. Your doorbell will now hook up with your phone or pad. Once hooked up you will see the word Live on the upper left of that screen.

+Ibrahima Conde the cheap batteries I used only lasted two weeks because I have the sensitivity of a camera up to the highest setting so it was recording anytime you bird flew by or a car drove by. I did a video that a release but then the week of how to hook up through the existing doorbell wiring which is super easy. One thing I did notice once I hooked it up to the doorbell wiring which is low voltage it recharges the batteries if you have rechargeable batteries in the doorbell
