In my opinion when the engine runs and it is in neutral position the main shaft of the engine not rotating so the mg-1 and mg-2 also not rotating, so the regenerative system is not working. Please reply upon my answer. Thank you.

Regenerative braking only work when car start retardation motion instead of acceleration. Car can normally retard by 1. Applying breaks. 2. Downward motion in inclined plane.

this video showcases a hybrid car which has ICE (internal combustion Engine), a hybrid Motor (2) and two Batteries, one regular 12V and other an Li-ION battery which is smaller but similar to what is used in only electric vehicles. . i do not understand why the govt and Car industry are not promoting PHEVs (plug in hybrids) cars. imagine a Phev which has a bigger li-ion battery, just enough for 50km travel in EV mode , I can charge its EV battery overnight on a regular house plug (5 amp), it will take a lot of time but then the car isn't going anywhere. then i drive it to my workplace around 30km away. there in the parking, i can again set it up to charge on a regular 5amp socket. it will not charge to 100% but it is enough to drive in EV mode back home, ICE engine will kick in only when the car is speeding fast which is unlikely in mumbai traffic conditions. so effectively, i would be using the car on electric power all week most of the time. now on saturday, i decide to drive with family from Mumbai to Pune, now, anything my battery goes low or car speeds up, the ICE engine will kick, and the car battery will start to recharge while it runs on petrol. so this means, i can help the city's environment by being on EV mode within the city, yet i have no range anxiety as i have ICE as backup. furthermore, i am using electricity at a slower rate where my electric consumption isn't that big as it would be with a full EV.
