Like it, but still a tad to pricey for the extra benefits. Nice to have, but their cheaper products provide enough functionality, esp for people with bikes.

@@Boingyuk These days, you can get a good bike for £2.5k but certainly nothing at "enthusiast level". Look at a Canyon Aeroad for example, almost £4k for the most basic option. Insane, yes. But it lends true to what he was saying!

@@ellismccoythere are “enthusiasts” who log 5000 miles+/year on twenty year old steel bikes. Lots of people spending too much and it doesn’t make them faster.

Great video 😀I took the plunge and ordered one, very easy to set up, only done a short ride so far but game changer compared to my old kickr core which was really problematic with shifting and grinding noises. You can easily see the gears if you use a wahoo elemnt computer with it.

Wahoo could learn a thing from Tesla.. their Kickr products (Core excluded) are seriously overpriced for what they are. Lower them to a better price point and imho sale numbers and popularity would grow exponentially... It's sad that we need competition from a company like Zwift to launch their own trainer at a much better pricepoint, before Wahoo decided to lower the price of the Kickr Core. It's only a waiting game for Zwift to launch a Hub Pro to beat the Kickr, and a Zwift Bike to wake Wahoo up again... I feel like the Kickr v6 should cost max $899 or $999 and the Kickr Bike (Shift) $1999,-. Kickr Bike v2 $2699 to $2999. Kickr Move $1299,- to $1399.

Excellent points. We saw that prices were artificially high when Zwift's Hub caused them to drop price points immediately, but now that Zwift and Wahoo have settled we've already seen prices on Core and Hub creep back up. I do most of my riding on a trainer and would love a smart bike (I'd get a Stages but their SB20 has had some widespread, nightmare customer service as of late) but at the current price points it is *absurd*. I can just buy another serviceable trainer and low-to-mid-end road bike for the same combined price.

I'm looking to get a smart bike, but the prices are just a tad too high. If they lowered the price, I would likely buy into their "eco-system" and I think it would then be a win-win.

Thank you very much for the review. It is an interesting trainer, that's for sure. Would you recommend to go with the shift of with a used Kickr Bike V1 for just a little bit less than what the Shift would cost new? I am sure I could live without the tilt-function.

Having WiFi connectivity available on the Shift is nice and more reliable but I also never had issues with Bluetooth. I think the V1 has a better and smoother flywheel than the Shift. I think that’s where the V1 and 2 shine over the Shift.

I wonder why there are so many refurbished V1's available. The sale has been going on for ages. Well part of the answer is that I've seen many KZfaqrs abusing these machines till they break and then turning them in for a replacement. Who wants to buy that?

How easy to adjust seat, handlebar position etc for multiple users? I got a stages SB20 for ease of settings change but I like the look of this bike.

Very easy. The bike has a number of quick release adjustments for seat height, handlebars, reach and stack.

Do you recommend SB20 or This one? I don’t care about ERG in general. Only if I’ve to do 4 or more hours of constant Z2. Also is important for me that is stiff for 30 sec all out sprint. And high cadence intervals.

Does it have some feedback, vibration when you shift gears? I assume it doesn't need calibration like direct drive trainers? I have Elite Direto xrt and i would like to go for something better, preferably something without dealing with cassette and rear derailleur gear indexing and clicking, creaking noise and vibration that come with it. Do you recommend bike shift or switch to higher end trainer like Wahoo Kickr v6? I use it for FulGaz and Rouvy apps.

The shifters do have a click feel to them instead of vibration. I think it’s good and feels more natural to me. As far as Kickr Shift vs Kickr 6, I would say depends on your use case. It’s nice to have a dedicated bike vs using my road bike. At the same time, I tend to prefer to use my real bike over a stationary bike. But generally once I have the kickr bike setup, I enjoy using it. If you have more than one rider in your household and plan on sharing the trainer, then I would pick the kickr bike over the kickr 6.

I'm on my second Elite Direto XRT because I had problems with the belt and calibration so I would very much like to avoid that on my next trainer/bike. By all means it's not a bad product but I want something more reliable. Would Neo 2T be a good solution? It has virtual flywheel and doesn't need calibration and the price is same as Kickr V6 which is a lot cheaper then Kick Bike Shift? Would you recommend Neo 2T or Kickr V6? Also, i have a disc brake bike. Heard people are having problems with the fit and clearance on Neo 2T. Sorry about all these questions but you review a lot of these products and seem to know a lot about it. Thanks in advance!

The NEO 2T is selling for $900 which is a really good price. I think both trainers are very solid. The kicker has a lot more connection options that will give you a much better experience and trouble free. The NEO hasn’t been updated in a while but it’s still a very solid trainer. amzn.to/3QyFUwd

Do you have the footprint of the setup length-wise? I didn't see the info on the Wahoo site...

Per my own measurements, it's 138cm from the front of the base to the end of the flywheel. 78cm width on the back legs. Hope that helps.

Sent mine back.. really wanted to get on with it but the gear shifting was too extreme going from z2 power to zone 5 power with one gear shift before smoothing back out.. erg not good either with the easy start functionality being over zealous- if you want to vary cadence during an interval, as soon as you drop then start to increase the bike switches off the resistance so you end up spinning out before it kicks back in.. wonder if anyone else has experienced these bugs…

Still too expensive - Is the "flywheel" Like that on the Tacx Neo trainers

The NEO uses neodymium magnets in their flywheel. I don’t think the Shift uses the same technology as it feels different but I could be wrong. Will have to dig into this 🪛🛠️

Will stick with my Core until it dies…once it dies will upgrade to the Kickr.

This will be my strategy too. I am very happy with my zwift hub one and Zwift play (virtual gears) but mounting and dismounting my bike on the trainer is realy a pain in the a**. I drive a lot indoors but also outdoors so this is point.

Per Wahoo’s specs, Size range is 5'0 → 6'4 (195cm). You can try to switch out to a longer seat post and longer stem to achieve your fit.

I got one in early December and it has already broken. Something internally is going on with the belt and it's now unrideable. Really disappointed.

I am sorry to hear about the belt issue. That's really disappointing and frustrating. It should be under warranty and hopefully Wahoo will make it right.

This is a nice to have but let’s be honest it’s about $1000 too expensive for what it is. Wahoo needs to quit this madness.

@@stevenqirkle they don’t exist. Yes I know that’s what you mean. That’s also my point. Other companies aren’t trying. These are very niche. I’ve seen several in shops unsold and discounted. It’s more expensive than most people’s actual bikes. That’s like a racing simulator more expensive than the persons race car. Does not make sense.

@@kentao4 products like this are expensive to develop, and being niche means a higher cost for buyers since they aren’t able to spread the development costs out over a large customer base. $3000 actually seems like a good value to me if you compare to offerings from WattBike, Garmin, Peloton, etc. I agree it’s pricey, and not for everyone. This sits near the upper end of their indoor trainer line - they also sell lower-priced direct-drive trainers for people who don’t need something this fancy. But a lot of people do spend more than $3,000 on a bike. And having a dedicated indoor bike can make sense for them if they don’t want to deal with the hassle of moving their bike on/off the trainer, don’t want to put additional wear on their fancy bike, want something quieter, adjustable, etc. And I know people who do more indoor riding than outdoor. For them it’s not totally unreasonable to me to spend more on a trainer than their actual bike.
