If you are ever looking for a quick and easy snack food or something that's easy to take with you on a hike or car trip to satisfy those munchies that pop up, look no further! Smoked Almonds are the answer! Don't spend your money on those expensive smoked almonds in the grocery store before you give these a try! You can also do this trick on mixed nuts instead of just almonds and you can also try different seasoning blends!
This seasoning blend is my own variation of Emeril Lagasse's "Essence" seasoning blend. I have made a few changes to it to suit my tastes.
Recipe:
2 tbs paprika
2 tbsp salt
2 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp cracked black pepper
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp dried oregano
1 tbsp dried thyme
2 tsp chipotle powder
1 tsp ground cumin
This recipe makes about 2/3 cup and you only need about 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons for four cups of almonds, so save the leftover in an air-tight container for later use on about anything you like!
