Loved the owls appearance too. I blinked and had to rewind to check it was an owl. Love this Dan. Never know what we might see thank you.

A lot of standard lenses have a macro setting Dan. The secret is stability. A tripod is essential along with a separate wired shutter switch......and plenty of patience.

Great footage dan .the first bird was a mistle thrush which was nice to see. Badgers are definitely weary of the table probably because there not starving lol. Quite powerful animals they knock that table over easy if they were starving .quick glimpse of the tawny owl was nice .keep up the good work mate

Another great vlog Dan, good variety of wildlife, and very entertaining watching the animals feed on those hanging baited sticks. When's Neil going to smother himself in peanut butter and camp out for the night ? 🤣

Macro is a 1 to 1 ratio of subject to a same sized image on the sensor, so the lens basically puts the image at the same size on the sensor as you see it through the viewfinder, the problem is there is the field of view is very slim so you can only get a small area in focus before you open the lens but then the image gets soft and then you are in focus stacking realms. Close up is different as you can crop in to get a really effective image as i've been doing today with the Canon R5 and a 100 to 500 telephoto R lens, super crisp and look great, let's do photography when I come visit in a couple of weeks, you can use my 100/400 telephoto and one of my macro lenses and i'll explain it all properly to you as it's easier to show you than explain on here. I don't feed wild animals (hummingbirds rarely), but rabbit food pellets with alfalfa is a better option for most of those critters. Badgers love earthworms and it is very easy to create your own worm farm. Deer will like the rabbit pellets and all will nibble on some sliced apples. I would lightly crush some pellets, not all. Corn is harmful to deer. I wouldnt give them jams and things that might have preservatives in them. Why no water? They are all adorable, the squirrels act like they've been sipping your John Smiths. 😅 Hi Neil

Hi Dan another wonderfull video I was wondering if the table needed to be left in a rain butt or ditch as it has been handled quite a bit by Hoomans for a while. if you watch the badger it seems he smells something not right. sending something for more more fruit etc best Regards Martin

The odds of you getting a successful picture of a butterfly are much greater with a long lens vs. Macro lens is because you can stand further back and not scare them off. I've been into photography since I was a kid, but I started with an SLR camera in 1995. 1998 is when I started using photoshop. That is all. 👍

I no someone who keeps his trail cames in a bag of leaves so they dnt smell of humans, and fit them wearing gloves thats why sometimes you have to leave the trail cams a couple days before you get fottage at times think the aminals smell the sent

The mink has probably killed the rat's. They make short work of a rat population.
