soviets designed Klimow RD-30 engines like that (it was their firstturbofan jet engine and they had not to many experience and technology) it has one stage fuel injectors which injet fuel into combustion chamber in liquid form not like in two stage fuel injectors in F-16 or F-16 which inject fuel in vapour form. pilot didnt use afterburners during take if to save tone of fuel on long flight to the eastern Poland.

The last American fighter to smoke like that was the F4 Phantom. Long ago retired from the US inventory. We use them for target drones now, for a reason.

Upgraded Migs don't smoke much. That is a Mig-29UB, the first production generation of the 29s, likely from 1984-85. Mig 35 for example, is smokeless, even in full afterburn.

Дмитрий Родионов, бездымно ушёл Су-22, а МиГ-29 как раз таки нет. Впрочем, все Микояновские фронтовые истребилеты в отличии от Суховских дымят, начиная, по крайней мере, с МиГ-21.

Дмитрий Родионов.А вы заметили что не сняты пробки с воздухозаборников на миг 29.Это шутка.У нас были миг 21 /первый взлет на ролике/Никогда небыло дыма при взлете.И,кстати,при взлете держали на тормозе и включали форсаж,нос аж до полосы опускался,а потом отпускали тормоз.Вот обратите внимание.Миг 21 на старте сбросил тормоз,покатился,а потом включил форсаж.Миг 29 на старте включил форсаж,пошел черный дым но как такого эффекта небыло.Во время форсажа идет подпитка кислородом из закачанных баллонов.Я думаю,что этого кислорода там небыло.А насчет ТВНД,дык я могу помочь.У меня есть Б/У с Т40 и пару форсунок.

Alan L because warranty void on jet engines, since 1991. Second hand engines from decommissioned jets. Thats like to ride on rusty 40 years cars somewhere in Africa and ask "why so smoky?"

@@brettdemauna9994 That's because our Migs suffer from lack of original parts. All spare parts are made by PZL without proper licence or origiginal blueprints. Our national skill of improvisation works quite well though, as we've only had 2 crashes (Original fleet was 24 Migs)
