This is the 5th tile project we've done where we've removed the old tile before installing new tile, and the first one with this tool kzfaq.infoUgkxqqoaX03nrziKwF7Bjjcc71YzLEleMvOS . I want to cry for all the unnecessary work we've done in the past. With this tool, we removed tile surrounding a fireplace, as well as the hearth tile, set in loads of cement, in less than an hour. I highly recommend this tool. It was easy to use, and very satisfying watching the tile literally fall off the wall.

you should test high flow air fittings, like the milton purple v-style and the flexzilla they sell on the matco truck. 20 bucks worth of fittings is a cheaper upgrade than buying a whole new gun

@disgruntledegghead6923 2 жыл бұрын
This all depends on your air supply and plumbing though. I don't care how big the fitting is, if you don't have volume and pressure no fitting you can buy will make any significant difference. Save yourself a few bucks and just thread the hose directly to the tool.

When working as an auto tech I started with a CP and went strait to the Snap-On when I was able to afford it. I have been super impressed with its hammering power but it's really that trigger control that makes it awesome. The ability to be careful with high power in sensitive areas is a must when working with expensive parts. I'm a recently new viewer and I'm enjoying most of what I see so far. I've sold over 1000 rivet guns/air hammers over the past 20 years, most are US made with the exception of Atlas Copco made in Sweden. I know nothing about the tools out of china or Taiwan as I don't sell those type of tools. The Sioux 270A has a good reputation. I myself like the CP 4444 for it's feathering trigger. @Slane583
@Slane583 2 жыл бұрын
While not everyone will agree with me, IMO, if I'm resorting to an air-hammer to get something out it's because whatever I tried previously didn't work so now I'm resorting to more force. So I could careless if the trigger is precise enough to give a neck massage. At this point we're well pass a neck massage and onto using our biggest sledge hammer we own. Since I'm not a professional anything my choice would be the Chief. It's easily accessible for me vs waiting for a tool truck to show up on its' own terms, it's a quarter of the Snap-On's price, and is essentially making 85-90% of the Snap-On's power rating. There's a reason one is $140 and the other is $500, professionals working in such jobs require precision. The average DIY'er does not, the air hammer is just an aid to make a hard task a little easier. :)
@djsomeguy
@djsomeguy 2 жыл бұрын
Sometimes you need that trigger control to get started before giving it the full beans.
@Slane583
@Slane583 2 жыл бұрын
@@djsomeguy That's still not a good enough of a reason for the average user to fork out $500. Especially if it's not a tool used everyday and they treat it as a last resort to get something loosened or unstuck. But again, it's just my opinion. Personally for me, even if it's a little clunkier than the Snap-On the Chief is a better choice. Especially if you were to include the down time from the tool suddenly failing during use. Because I can take a 30 minute drive to the store and get it replaced instantly. Where-as the Snap-On tool truck could take hours to show as they deal with multiple businesses in the area. That and if I had $500 for just air hammers I'd probably skip the headache and buy two or three at a time and replace a broken one when it wasn't a work day. :)

In this category in particular it is less weighted for price ur right. Without any power figures we originally just wanted to rank these by power alone as no one knows this. Then just list price as fyi. We did end up incorporating its score, but you can rank them as you see fit knowing each detail.

Interesting that at least in air, the tool truck brands actually do appear to deliver some performance.

I own the harbor freight chief air hammer. It hits pretty hard and seems to be built in the same housing as some of the tool truck brands, but the one problem I've had is that you can't really ease into the trigger so it ends up bouncing around if you're trying to be more precise. Still a great air hammer for the price, but it seems they went cheap on the trigger mechanism.

Try the adapters snap on has in the supplement side that convert hammer action to rotations they make socket adapters and adapters for hydraulic fittings.

Great stuff. I do wonder if hand holding the tools constitutes an uncontrolled variable though.

Thank God my snap on purchase was justified lol. They ran a special where I got their 6 piece air hammer bit kit for free with it last year and took advantage of it

I used to have to buy a new air hammer ever year because they would fall apart. I bought the snapon 20 years ago and it still hits hard.

I would love to see a comparison with a small construction hammer. For example Atlas Copco TEX 05 (up to 12 pounds of weight). Such hammers are also used in workshops.

if you can get your hands on some high speed sensors and load cells (Able to detect transients and whatnot) it might be fun to look at force per blow, but that requires REALLY high speed load cells with graphs.

The snap on has four power settings which is adjusted using the red band just above the air inlet. Which power setting did you test it in? If you want more fitness, a lower power setting and the adjustable trigger gives you plenty! Mine kicks like a mule on high and I bought it used for $150 out of the bargain bin at the back of the Snap on truck. Always check the bargain bin. My first real roll away was a trade in from earlier that day that was still in the back of the snap on truck.

If you have the cheese, get both. Back up plans in case of internals failing by chance. I would leave the hammer bit on the Matco and a chisel bit on the Snappy.

Have you ever graphed the output hammer beans of (any) single unit, but varying the pressure applied? As in, go from nothing beyond its own weight, press 20/50/100 (pick your numbers) lbs and see how it performs.
