Definitely agree. I got the p262 with 3 batteries charger and bag for $214 after tax then I got the 3/8” extended reach ratchet with a 4ah battery for $135 so $350 for what would have been $1400 if they had the snap on label. Ridiculous.

How is it that fair of a test if he didn't show Ryobi doing the 650 test ??

Have many Ryobi saws, lights, drills, impact and trimmers/blowers, Love them all! Battery interchange is what first sold me, son is on board with Ryobi tools now

even though ryobi didnt hit 650 ft pounds its still a great buy, if your working on cars 600 ft pounds is enough to get bolts off

As an average diy as well, ryobi gets the job done for the cheapest price. Plus, for what you’re paying you get pretty good quality especially the hp brushless line

They also have some other good items in the system besides the usual tools, like lights, hand vacuum, and inverters. The whole family uses those all the time, and that saves needing to use other types of batteries.

@@mmm4638 - so you believe there is virtue in liking ugly? Honestly, good industrial design is a sign of good processes, manufacturing capabilities. Rarely do we see “ugly but good” in today’s world. When harbour freight looks to have put more effort into their over-moulded batteries than Snap-On I find it interesting. It shows there isn’t as much cost in making a device look good as there used to be. The Snap-On batteries I’m sure have a quality ABS lower half on that battery, but I still wouldn’t want to drop it. Snap-On is coasting on name with a tool performance like that. 🤷🏻‍♂️

found a deal on Amazon for the RYOBI P262 bare tool at 89.99. went with a knockoff 9ah HP battery with good reviews for 49.99 as I already have a charger and a few one+ tools lying around. Works flawlessly for the price I couldn’t be happier.

I picked up the same deal a month or so back. Octane high torque and 4ah max output for $199.99. Great tool!

You guys should see if you can find the 3ah octane for those bad boys. Supposed to be the best battery for them. Ive found them on facebook market place and amazon. Havent grabbed one tho cause i still have the first brushless impact before the octane and works grest for me over 4 years now. Not a fan of ridgid drills and recips (never had luck with longevity, my bro either) but their impacts and other tools have been great

Rigid is so under rated for the performance to price ratio.

@T'Real, The Ryobi is a solid mid-torque impact for smaller fasteners around 500 ft-lbs. The Kobalt NG mid-torque spanks the Ryobi, which are generally in the same price range.

The only real downfall is the bulk and weight with some of their stuff. The batteries are huge. I’ve had lots of their 18v stuff for years and only killed a sawsall and impact driver after years of use, those were both the old blue ones. No issues with the green ones so far.

The design from the ryobi is almost exact of the ridgid gen5X

I’m really just speculating, but I bet that TTI is really just more experienced at making these sorts of tools. Snap on’s poor button isn’t from trying to be cheaper. Their designers just don’t have the same experience at knowing how buttons work and feel with different types of assemblies. I bet TTI tries a lot harder to save pennies, but their industrial designers know what dome buttons with adhesive membranes vs micro switches vs a button on a PCB with a raised extender and a spring built into the plastic mold feel like. (The Kobalt battery I just disassembled had a small button on a PCB. At the other end, there was a sticker with a raised dimple. In between them was a ~1cm long piece of plastic that was part of the main battery housing. The plastic housing provided all the spring tension. It would take a lot of experimenting with different designs to get that to feel right. Injection molds are $$$$$, so you really want an expert to do this who’s done it many times before, or else you’ll just keep trying over and over…)

I mean Ryobi and Milwaukee are made by TTI and I'm not positive but believe Ridged is as well considering it's a carbon copy of M18 Fuel Gen 2 Milwaukee mid torque impact wrench, or it's a copycat of internals and housing. They are very close to eachother

I also got this with a $5 discount on top so $206-207 after tax. It was supposed to be online only but I got it in store went back to get the same deal with the pblrc25 extended reach 3/8” ratchet but they wouldn’t let me. After waiting over an hour to talk to a manager I got the ratchet and a 4ah battery for $135 a spectacular discount for the piss poor customer service and waste of time they put me through. But for 4 batteries 1 charger a bag and 2 great tools I paid $341 but if they were crap on tools I would have paid $1400!?!? Efff that noise. These ryobi hp auto tools are killer.

Most of the "stubby", compact, or sub-compact 1/2" impact wrenches have enough power to remove lug nuts on passenger vehicles and trailers. Anything that delivers at least 175ftlb should be enough for most passenger cars and light trucks. When you get to the heavy duty commercial trucks and trailers, you might need more for lug nuts. Where the extra power makes a difference on lighter duty vehicles is on some suspension parts where rust is likely to be a factor, and on some crank bolts.

You can get the last generation rigid octane ones that they're closing out for real good prices at home Depot now. I have plenty of power just hard to find the octane batteries which really give him a boost. But for lug nuts it should more than do the trick

Yah, and it looked like the Ridgid was struggling more with 600lb more than Ryobi was at 600lb. I would have been interested in seeing Ryobi 650lb attempt.

@@chillstep4life the Ryobi with a buried it trust me it puts out literally 810 ft lb of torque I have this and the rigid the rigid gets about 625 and then the snap-on is right at about 290-300 and it's four hundred plus dollars

Actually this test is so inaccurate on so many levels. 1st what’s the model # of the Snap on (so we can check its specs) 2nd what batteries where used on the Rigid & Ryobi (Octane for Rigid & HP or their newest High Performance Lithium +) sounds Like TTI wants mechanics away from Snap On. Honestly Snap On been milking it for Years. Impact Wrench king is Milwaukee true, tried, & tested. However, Snap-On will outlive them all.

That’s ashame buddy, I have all my ridgid stuff documented on Lsa status and have printed off copy’s. I know you shouldn’t have had to do it but you can never be to safe as these tool are an expensive investment. I’m and hvac tech by trade and use my stuff religiously.. they are going to choke on that Warrenty 🤣

There power ratchets are pretty amazing but everything else is pretty mediocre

If I use anything smaller than a 4ah it's performance is weak. So I would say use 4ah or better.

I've got the kobalt XTR half inch and the quarter inch and I've got it up to 1,289 ft pound loosening and 887 fastening and it will out perform my Milwaukee 1400 it's amazing!

@@johns9888 small impact driver with my 5ah battery rated for 2400 inch pounds did 306 breakaway ft/lbs and 223 ft/lbs tightening but it will do more... Best set for the money

Both the Ryobi and Ridgid are on par. I believe the Ridgid has a bit more torque in real world scenarios.

@@daveclark8337 torque test only shows speed 3 on all tools not speed 1 and 2 or auto mode.

I feel like that is because tightening with reckless abandon is less useful than knowing how tight of a bind you can get something out of. What are you tightening so much?

These tighten almost anything more than enough. If your worried about torque you should use a torque wrench anyway not just pull the trigger on an impact and hope for the best

@@kakarotoforce9665 It came with a 4 amp battery. The best battery for Ridgid is the 8 amp because it has 21700 cells, but I’m not spending $200 on a battery just to get more power. For what I’m going to use it for, the 4 amp battery will be fine.

Are you sure they are 140 and not way more after a visit to the tire shop or quick lube? Same model? I never take my cars to those places any more because they’ve always came back way over torqued.

Are you using a 4ah battery or larger battery? Ryobi recommends using at least a 4 Amp hour battery.
