Japan does actually have a 99% conviction rate. I got more into the way the system worked because of Phoenix Wright, since I heard that that game's legal system took some elements from Japan's along with a few others & some fictional elements. It's the reason Japan's justice system is so fucked - every aspect of it is focused around keeping that near-perfect score. Crime too hard to solve? Don't investigate it. Got someone you like for theft but don't actually have any evidence? Beat a confession out of them. Who cares gotta keep that 99%!!!

@@GLCFuru There's definitely some of that, and since prosecutors are often shorthanded (according to Wikipedia), they'll decline to prosecute cases they probably won't win & go after only the highest-value targets because you can take sentencing factors into that decision.

This game will no doubt be great just like the first game, but the thing that gets me hyped about this game is that means any next RGG news would be Yakuza 8 and where it's gonna go.

Yakuza 8 will follow the same formula for combat in Yakuza 7 which I am okay with since multiple fighting styles.

@@michaeldagadagn307 I mean, it will. But that's not the case, all Yakuza games, even Judgement rn with the addition of I think a new style, adds to their formula. And Yakuza 7 can do with a lot of improvements on the JRPG side, so I'm pretty hyped about what the changes are.

It’s true that Japanese courts have a roughly 99.8% conviction rate (or at least did at the time this game was originally made), but the main reason for that is only about 8% of all criminal cases are prosecuted. It’s believed that the state only prosecutes cases when a guilty verdict is all but guaranteed, with 60% of cases being deferred and 30% being smaller crimes handled in summary trials (which don’t involve juries or verdicts, usually the defendant just agrees to pay a large fine).

Hate to be that guy, but it's new and scary and I don't like it. But seriously though I thought 7 had a pretty fun battle system and the characters were good as always, but I do prefer the brawler style with Kiryu+Majima. Just my two pennies.

@@Ya_Mosura I hope they introduce new characters or bring back old ones who play as the classic brawling style, but Ichiban chapters play like his turn based RPG style

I don't know if we'll see more Judgment specifically, but if the team keep making brawlers then I can't complain about a genre shift for the 'flagship' series. I really liked LAD, but I enjoy gonzo heat actions and beating people up more manually. The Yakuza series introduced so many potential protagonists over the years, and Judgment was a great game using a whole new cast in the same settings. Nothing stopping them from doing so again.

That's actually a good idea, while i'd say dead souls is only game that may be outright viewed as bad(i love like a dragon) but at worst id say its kinda boring and at best its pretty fun, still a complete commercial flop

Unfortunately, they most likely won't because of the main actor's agency. Apparently the agency and Sega got into a bit of disagreement about pc ports for both Judgment games, hence why the first one is only playable on pc through Stadia.

@@hankrudolph2436 They want to limit exposure of the actor to the internet, they also don't let their clients have social media. But they don't know how the internet and technology works. You can still rip assets and models from console games.

Its Yakuza, but with Yakuza. There are also bits of Yakuza in it. Oh yes, and a few light "detective mechanics" on top of it. You know, to distinguish it from the main series. Did i mention this is a Yakuza spin off and Yakuza is older than sleeping dogs? Just checking...
