Try adding more rudiments like pududuhs or paradiddles and paradiddlediddles. Also try adding some diddles in there as well.

Can someone tell me whatthe little notes are called? Like the small 16th notes in the first measure?

A drag

@@temporal9 The rudimental sticking is a drag, the written notes are called grace notes. They're written smaller to show that the should be much softer and before the beat.

It took me a second. Never end a roll with a flam

@@humanperson-ef5gmYeah sort of a taboo. Pretty difficult to do. And it is difficult to play it nice and clean at moderate tempos.

It would be helpful to put "marching snare" in the title, so people don't get confused. Unless you intended for this to be a concert snare solo, in which case, you should use a concert snare sound. It currently is a marching snare, which sounds very different.

Yes. If you check out the score on musescore.com, you will see that it is a marching snare. When it sends to KZfaq, it doesn't show the names of the instruments.

@@harrykoester You're the one who makes the titles though? lol All I'm saying is that calling it a "snare solo" implies that it is for a concert snare drum. And if that's not what you intended, then you should update the title to specify that this is a marching snare solo
@CouchPotator Жыл бұрын
@@LuckyOwI777 to me "snare solo" implies marching drums, but it doesn't really matter what kind of drum you use. In the default soundfont for Musescore, the marching snare sounds better than the concert snare. So for playback, marching snare is the better choice.

@@CouchPotator Everything you said was completely opinion based, and had really nothing to do with my comment, lol My point is, that while yes, you can play this on either snare, a concert snare and marching snare are quite different and fulfill different roles, in different areas of music. The fact he used a marching snare sound implies this was written for a marching snare drum (also, the piece itself just feels like it's for the marching arts). It would be helpful to specify in the title that this is a marching snare piece, so people who are looking for a concert percussion piece won't be confused

@@LuckyOwI777 i think you care a little too much about the title lol. It seems pretty cut and dry what it's meant to be.

It was great except the roll in measure 12 leading to measure 13 has a flam at the end. That's not really possible to play. Great job otherwise
