It’s been going for seven seasons. It had a good run, but I suspect the cast members are ready to move on.

Disagree, Shaun has gone through so much growth. He started out as a loner not believing in love to marrying and having his own child. He is now an attending, the same position Dr. Melendez had in season 1. His story has come full circle, and it’s time to put it to a close.
