What I love about Alien is that if they had just listened to Parker they all could have survived. But if you have a corporate android on the ship programmed to manipulate the situation any way he can to get this thing home, it makes for a tragedy in the making. Simple yet brilliant film.

23:40 "Rock climbing, guys. Rock climbing. Rock. Climbing." Glen Larson-y did the same thing with Battlestar Galactica that he eventually did with Buck Rogers. Difference is, Galactica the movie came out AFTER the TV series crashed and burned, so it came across as trying to swindle a few shekels out of an audience that didn't watch the TV series anyway. Whereas, Buck Rogers the movie premiered BEFORE the TV series premiered, and so it attracted attention for potential TV viewers, and the TV series lasted 2 seasons. But then, the series eventually self-destructed for other reasons....
