Snippets from My Desk: Ink Experiments, Logging my Pens. New Ink Journal Idea.

Today is a bit different: After updating my reading log, I'm showing some ink experiments I did last night and continuing them on watercolor paper. I was inspired by the Instagram account niki_notebook to play with inks and dip pens and create super cool effects. Instead of updating my weekly journal, I'm logging all of my currently inked pens in my pen log and then I'm sharing an idea on how I would set up yet another ink journal.

I love this pen logging system. And if that ink notebook is still useable, you can use what you already have. Mark the pages that were sold/given away but use the pages that are still applicable, if you didn’t want to “waste” it. Or just use it as scratch paper now 😂 thanks for the video!!

Hey, friend! I love your “snippets” and online voice-and I always chat with your ideas even if I’m not commenting. It’s been such a crappy year (parents’ health crises and associated last-minute travel) that I am more in “hibernate” than “engage” mode with most aspects of life. Sorry to hear about your year Mari. I’d been wondering how you were. I’m at the age of dealing with elderly parents as well, actually just my dad now. Hope things improve for you soon.

For my Eleanor inspired copy cat, I am using a B6, song lyrics, and a swipe of ink down the side edge. And I'm so happy with it. SO HAPPY. I'm going to do my pen/ink usage on the backs of the pages.

Yep. So either you said that before that's why I thought pen and ink samples on the back. I think I'd want an A5. However, maybe, I should just start the darn Pens from my Pen Case journal already.

@@seemownay I mentioned it before on the back, which was copying Val's pen log. Nothing I am doing is original to me. I am stealing the format for Eleanor, the logging from Val, and the side swipe from you and your ink cards.

@@soapturtle @seemownay copy away! :) I'm a big fan of keeping a log of all pens that have had the ink in them to compare them. It is really illuminating! I wish more people did that kind of thing. For the writing sample I just jot down why I bought it, and any other thoughts i have about the color/properties.
