I don't think Dredge players are allowed to talk trash. They always have it all and don't even need to cast spells to do it usually.

Imagine how toxic a personality you need to have in order to both play Dredge and whine about "lucky" opponents whenever you lose

yeah that was really stupid, I get that it can be hard to win from gravehate, but you honestly need to expect that when you play dredge.

And nobody is complaining, seeing Dredge get out-combo'd 3 times in a row warms my dark soulless heart.

That happens when they are used to autopilot netdecks instead build them by themselves; they might have the answer in front of them all the time, but they cannot think outside of the manual how to play such deck.

Only kind of! Because if you run 2 Kiki Jikkis in your deck and you have your second copy still in the deck, you can do it like this: Copy Snoob, opponent mills, activation resolves, you copy the harbinger and search another harbinger. Of course, you are delayed by one turn and your opponent can kill the snoob. Otherwise you can combo on your next turn :)

This Deck has nothing to do with that effect. While it is a combo Deck and Legacy has a lot of combo archetypes the big difference between modern and legacy is the level of interaction and cantrips in combination with the extreme fast finishers so that every small mistake can be punished in an instant. How does rb combo Goblins fullfill this requirements? The combo is pretty slow, since Snoop doesn't have haste and has many points on which it can be attacked so it doesn't punish as hard as other combo decks. And it has no cantrips and few ways of interaction so it also doesn't fullfill this part of legacy.

Hmm, that's an interesting idea. The only downside is that we need two tutors to win usually (one for Kiki-Jiki to make a bunch of Snoops and another to put a finisher on top after we make a bunch of Snoops). Could still be fun for value.

I also play lightning crafter sb. Just tapping snoops to throw bolts is nice in some matchups and it also combos with kiki :D

Could also win with the snoop combo, no? Sac harbinger and grimgully for mana, tap a land - cast matron. Search for harbinger. Sac matron and prospector, tap a land for black, cast harbinger and put Kiki on top?

Could have just tutored for grumgully earlier too. That game 1 was played weirdly.

At 43:03 he also missed the win by sacking the Skirk prospectors for mana playing the harbringer and going off. There is no way opponent could stop him.

I would imagine that the combo was intentional, it does make it seem even crazier that Twin is banned though.

I think it's an unfair comparison. I'm not saying Twin should still be banned, the meta had evolved a lot, but what made Twin so oppressive was not the speed of the combo. It was the ability to be a broadly distributive deck with Remand and Cryptic, Bolt for creature, sometimes discard (and Terminate if they were splashing for discard), then win out of nowhere in a single turn (unlike traditional control with slowish win conditions). This deck is very lightly disruptive, much less able to protect its combo. This is a false equivalency that comes up all the time, though. "This combo is so much better, why is Twin still banned?" Because the combo win made a purely control deck broken. Or you could say the control elements made the combo broken.

@@joehemmann1156 The general build of Twin decks (ignoring the combo) was strong, but not overpowered. You can see it from the Jeskai decks of the time playing a similar game without it. The combo pushed it to the top. And into a higher tier. That's similar to what's happening here. Goblins were a tier 2 tribe already. This combo lands T3, but the deck as a whole can keep going after and that's what makes this strong. A strong combo in an already solid deck.

@@ewanhiddleston6642 true, but adding a creature based combo to a tribal deck, while it can make the deck better, is not as conceptually broken as adding an instant win to a control deck. Take playing against Twin as an example. When playing a grindy control deck, in general, you're probably boarding out targeted removal, boarding in things that give you a longer game. Card advantage, anti counterspell cards like Veil of Summer. But if you do that vs Twin, you remove your only way to interact with their win condition. Now the way you're going to board against a deck like this, since it's a tribal deck you're likely looking for MORE targeted removal, sweepers, etc. These same elements interact favorably with both the core deck and the combo, so you don't have a split philosophy to countering the deck. This isn't to say this deck is fair or couldn't be as strong in this meta as Twin was in its own. Vizier Elves did something very similar, though, adding an infinite combo to an already strong tribal deck, and no one ever called for banning anything from that deck. At the end of the day, adding a combo to a deck which is answered by the same things that answer the rest of the deck is a fundamentally different proposal than adding a combo to a deck that demands completely different answers from the bulk of the deck.
