Diving Stanley Park, BC (I found a Lumpsucker!) + Nanoose Bay
In this episode I meet up with Aquatic Monkey and Vancity Relics for some bottle diving off Stanley Park, BC. The visibility was crap but we made the most of it. I got to see a Spiny Lumpsucker! and we found some 100+ year old bottles.
The following week I dove a new spot in Nanoose Bay on Vancouver Island. We saw some sea lions, spawning greenling and Octopus!

I grew up in the west end of Vancouver and Stanley Park is our backyard , props for including our amazing Park. If you ever come back to dive I would recommend you check around/under the bridges, also if visibility is good a metal detector diving footage would be cool , really enjoyed the video btw
@PNWSamson

Yeah totally! There is a shipwreck just under the bridge too. An old steamer that sank in the early 1900's. I think it's pretty decayed now but it would be cool to find. I'll give Stanley Park again for sure, the currents can be intense under Lions Gate but if we planned it out that would be amazing.

Some time back in the 60's I heard that the Vancouver Aquarium was having a winters night low tide experience down where you were diving in Stanley Park. The main attraction were ... spiny lumpsuckers! Every since then I've really wanted to see one but so far, no luck!

Awesome stuff once again! Gear question. I'm currently looking to get a new belt. I was concidering the exact sme C4 you seem to be wearing. I also happen to have this same beuchat wetsuit. My initial thinking was to get the black C4 belt but now i'm thinking I might get the white one for visibility/safety. Do you think it's a big deal or should I just go with whatever color? Also, did you prefer the marseille buckle over the other buckle type? thanks so much for all the awsome content!
@PNWSamson
@PNWSamson 7 ай бұрын
Thanks man! Personally, I'd go with the white. And that's for visibility. Our water is so dark and murky, if anything were to ever happen to you, you'd want to give yourself and your buddy a fighting chance. I get a lot of people commenting on how visible I am with a white belt. As for the belt style, I don't really have a preference. I find I can get used to both of them pretty quickly. Most seem to prefer the marseillaise though. The other style is a little cheaper and I find you can get them a bit tighter but they can be a bit finicky sometimes.
