Tomorrow, England head to Murrayfield looking to end an awful run of results against Scotland and bring the Calcutta Cup back to Twickenham. So, how is the game gonna play out and is there much chance of rugby happening or will a big octopus consume the pitch?

Hey- Hurried to get this video up before the game tomorrow, had no time to check properly, and got the audio mix totally wrong, apologies. Normally I'd take it down and look to reupload, but since the game is so close and I wouldn't be able to get it back up until tomorrow morning, I'm going to leave it up and instead post my granded, largest apology to headphone users and right ears everywhere. good work! can imagine this gets the content across quickly and is much easier on you guys in terms of editting (and can be adjusted to mitigate pesky video rights...) theres a gulp caught on mic early on.. get a couple squidge mugs and leave them as set dressing. other one for next time is to fix up the camera clipping edges, use your own lighting instead of natural light - though that sun is very good at highlighting your brothers blue eyes!

Big fan Squidge. And appreciate this is iterative and will evolve. Can I suggest you adjust the lighting too? Close those blinds. And maybe a studio light. Your analysis is top quality, so hoping your setting can do it justice for your channel.

Love the new format, this is exactly the type of video I've been hoping you guys would do! 😁 Just a few bits of feedback, firstly you gotta close the blind and get a professional light if you need it. And second, the cinematic style aspect ratio really doesn't lend itself to an analytic discussion. Get the chairs in a bit closer to each other and use the full aspect ratio. It's a bit jarring going between game footage and your own camera angles. Love the vids guys, keep it up! 🎉

What a breath of fresh air this was! So tired of watching the likes of Alex Goode reflexively ignoring the actual rugby to have a go at Borthwick and his winning ways, even the GBR podcast sometimes allows Haskell to bang on about him not having a stylish approach. Wtf? He's getting results.

What a crock of nonsense. I am so tired of Squidge catering to England fans to the point it has become almost comical. Scotland won in 2nd gear, they did not play well at all and still won at a canter. England are not good and weren't good in the WC. They were extremely fortunate. It took a terrible TMO reversal to beat Samoa. Then Raynal complete crapping the bed v Fiji to scrape a win. Then they got a Boks team battered from a tough as nails QF and coming out the toughest pool. A bok team that was tired and sluggish. Yet all it took from the Boks to win? 10 decent minutes or rugby. Squidge knows majority of his audience is English and this caters to them. As a consequence his videos are nowhere near as good as they once were.

Except when Scotland were really dire, I've always been nervous about this fixture, especially at Murrayfield. This probably goes back to the 5 Nations era with some real nail biters and fantastic displays from Scotland.

Having a good kicker at 9 takes Scotland back to the days of Greg Laidlaw. After his demise Finn Russell became the sole decision-maker in the team. That's easier to target. With the ability to make choices from 9 and 10 Scotland are less predictable.

13:16 I know the law is the offside line is the hindmost player, but there's a gap between 15 and the body pile. Is the offside line then moved forward to be in line with number 15?

According to the laws a ruck has to be over the ball, so I think so? Not sure if the ref would allow a Welsh player to contest though as the balls been clearly won

To be fair, in the last 10 minutes. Wales were offside at almost every ruck when Scotland were attacking. For some reason a Wales player stood next to the ruck halfway up it on nearly every phase (maybe 8 times). Didn't get pinged once.

You need a Springbok though (Kolisi did a tremendous job at that during the RWC pool game.....and if I'm not mistaken either Kolbe or Arendse did get a few tackles on him as well).

Wales are nearly in total transition, England are tinkering with a few positions, they had mahler, Cole, Genge, Otoje, ford, and oodles of caps, Wales and England are in different places.

Don't buy the 'team in transition' narrative. England's starting XV has c750 caps and 6 over 30s. Most experienced side playing in the whole 6 nations. Good analysis as always. Disagree with who it's a bigger loss for - much bigger loss for Scotland if we lose.

England's "bogey team" won without getting anywhere near to their best. Scotland are one awful reffing decision from having a genuine chance at their best ever 6Ns. Yes doubtful they get near Ireland but sure would've been nice to have that chance. Instead Squidge can make a video telling us how the "bogey team" somehow managed to win again.

Scotland are favourites going into this game to my mind. Win/loss record be damned. If Scotland manage to play 2 consecutive halves like they've started the first 2 games they're the more cohesive, creative and, let's be honest, talented team. It's usually discipline and unforced errors that scupper them. When they're not getting shafted by officials anyway. Either way, they're the most entertaining team in the tournament by a country mile. Going to be a cracker. Enjoy, all. ... (Come on, England. 😅)

Scots have not beaten England in four straight Championship games since 1896. I believe this game to equal the record will give the Scots additional insensitive to win🎉

In the opening analysis on England's kicking game you gloss over the fact Varney botched his box kick. Italy's 9s had terrible games especially in the kicking department. That wasn't anything England did it was the Italian 9s putting their team in endless bad spots from bad kicks. This highlights a need to make England's tactics seem better than they actually are. In Wales games, England's opening try came because Wales naively tried to run from under their own posts. Oh, my bad perhaps it was because England decided to get players sent to the sin bin to get Wales to do that. Ya know: "Problem Solving."

Loads of great points but this hasn't been the biggest game for Scotland in a few years. Ireland are the benchmark for them in the 6N now, England haven't been in the running for that since 2020.

I don’t agree that this is scotlands biggest game. Important sure, but we need to beat Ireland to prove ourselves as 6 nations contenders. We already know that we can beat England, but with the dodgy loss against France the 6 nations is out of sight this year again I feel that this is not as important as some previous Scotland England matches.

England need someone outside the club tactics. The chief style of smash rugby is boring and everyone has figured it out. It is so robotic, to easy to defend. Great job as always!!!!!!

As a Scotland fan I think this one is too close to call, and I kind of like what England are building as a "winning" team. Not all of us here paint our faces blue and shout at Englishmen and I wouldn't;t be distraught if England played a blinder. I think the Furbank call is a good one and if having to adapt to the Scotland issue makes England less conservative then it's a win for everyone...

I am a massively proud English man, but i don't see us beating Scotland, however now we seam to have stopped messing about with two number 10's, good, this puts a number 12, and 13, good, however because we haven't used this because of the two 10s nonsense, we have not been able to develop our 12s, and13s, for England.
