My father (born 1920) loved the Five/Six Nations because it was never predictable. I once rang him after a Super Saturday to ask if three games in a day hadn't been too much? No, he'd spent the morning watching two games from NZ. As a Scot, he'd have been jumping up and down after the Italy game (except he didn't do jumping up and down) for all the right rugby fan's reasons.

Love this new setup, loving the podcast style. Enjoying that I can hear your opinions about all the games! the deep dives are great, but when I'm not interested in the game and having watched know what you're going to say (because I've watched you for years, and learn't from your videos and analysis. It made me be able to predict plays and know what the teams are going to do, thus I know what you're going to talk about! Whereas, this feels insightful in a different way, talking about how players complement styles and explaining why players are dropped etc. This means that I can enjoy the video guaranteed I will be interested in at least one of the games you talk about.

I'd just like to make the point, as well as quesada being an excellent coach, he also has a better squad than crowley ever had, especially on the bench where italy struggled to close out games with crowley. Crowley always had to have a few totally average players in his squad, but Quesada is now putting out for the first time ever probably, a full 23 of good players. I mean from to go from Bigi/Manfredi/Faiva to Luchessi (crowley only had luchessi and Nicotera together against Australia Samoa and South africa where italy were excellent) is huge. Ditto from Zani to Spagnolo is night and day. From Pierre Bruno to Louis Lynagh is another huge leap (even though im a bruno defender of sorts haha). And crowley had no Zilocchi, no Vincent, had no Marin for a season and a half, had to play a looong past it Luca Morisi at the world cup, but quesada gets a very soon to be totally world class Menoncello. He had to play a very green Pani who is still not the finished article but is much improved. He couldn't play Mori since he was frozen out of Bordeaux and hadnt played in months but is now on excellent form. He had to play a very average David Sisi off the bench in many games as Zambonin wasn't physically developed enough yet or playing well for Zebre like he is now. He didn't have Izekor yet either. I mean Crowley played Fuser in that win against wales and loss against georgia, a player who would be getting relegated from the pro D2 in the next couple of months. And lots of Quesada's u23 players like lorenzo cannone, Menoncello, Luchessi, Garbisi, etc that are the spine of the team are starting to hit 10-30 caps having had that experience and development in them. Crowley selceted from a zebre that couldnt win a single game and a mid table benetton that finished 11th, but now both teams are doing much much better. So as well as coaching differences, Queseda also simply has a better squad. Crowley was an excellent coach and Queseda may be that next level, but crowley was fantastic for italy in his own right.
@nic-ci_66-77
@nic-ci_66-77 Ай бұрын
Sure.. Crowley should be remembered as a very special coach for Italy: the one who changed the italian attitude from to only defend as best as they can the team Azzurro against stronger teams, to trying to attack at their best the same stronger teams. I asked myself how Quesada was able to grow again the team's defence quality without loosing the attacking attitude brought by Crowley, and apart how hard and meticulous his good work is, I believe you suggested the best explanation: Quesada has better players or the same players in better moments of their career

Quick one, I love the conversational format, but do you reckon you could add a 3rd camera focusing on you when you're talking, so you've got the wide shot, and one camera on each person individually? Just my opinion but I feel like it flows better if the camera focuses on one person if they talk for like longer than a minute for example. Either way, love this and congrats on the new studio!!

Enjoyed that...great stuff yet again! One correction though...Effectively Ireland can lose tomorrow BUT if they get a bonus point they almost certainly will still win the 6N It is not a simple case that in order for England to win that Ireland loses and England wins their respective games. Ireland must lose with NO bonus point (16 pts)and England must win WITH a bonus point(17). England then win outright. If they both end up with the same points however the PD comes into play and currently Ireland have +80 and England -3 so a very very high barrier for England. (Note: If Ireland lose with or without a bonus point but have to await confirmation of a win until later then this would lead to a delayed and decidedly perfunctory trophy presentation...no joyous celebrations in the Aviva as everyone gone home-sponsors nightmare) But even IF Ireland did win outright(Aviva goes wild) then its still a major dogfight in the other 2 games for the 2nd, 3rd place etc. Exciting weekend ahead. ps. Isn't it a pity the Ireland Scotland game isn't on last ? Although I may have to be put on a respirator for that scenario.

One thing I'll say on this video, is that when you cut to the slight wide angle of Will, it's slightly behind. Maybe a quarter of a second at most, but from that camera angle it's all just a tiny little bit out. The words come a tiny bit, fragments of a second, before he visually speaks. Edit: Initially worded it as a complaint, it's not a complaint. It's the tiniest thing that I'm not sure many people would recognise.

9:23 I feel like the Welsh attack is the least potent in the six nations at the moment, carriers aren’t making gains, back line is too flat a lot of the time. I’m excited by the promise of dyer and winnett. I think Sheedy deserves a good shot at the 10 jersey next season, always seen him or Evans becoming wales’ starting 10. Alex Mann has really stepped up, in an already stacked back row with Morgan Morse to come through. Front row depth is maybe our biggest issue especially when you consider the importance of the scrum in international rugby now
