I have a midsize suv with 3rd row. Id much rather have a small third row than no 3rd row at all. Great for teens or short road trips. It’s been a lifesaver.

I don't understand your complaint about the 3rd row. If you don't need it, just leave it folded flat - then the car will be exactly what you want it to be. If you need to squeeze in a couple more people someday, then pop it up.

Keep the third row. This feels like it’s perfect for my family of four with occasional need for two more seats to rescue my buddies kids b/c something came up at work or whatever. On road trips, it’s just gonna be the four of us.

The 3rd row is the selling point for me. I also got the 2023 hybrid ex with the pano sunroof. It's perfect for a family of 4 that needs that 3rd row occasionally.

We had a base model for a rental recently to drive from San Jose to Monterey and back. Even in entry level trim it was excellent for three adults. Only gripe might be that when you needed a burst of power it was anemic and noisy, but otherwise smooth and quite at all times.

And Eliminating the third row would make this just like the new Sportage!?

Not sure why reviewers keep dinging 3 row SUVs for not fitting adults well in the 3rd row. They aren't designed for that. Who drives around with 6 or 7 adults regularly? There are bigger SUVs that can do that. These mid-sized, 3 row vehicles are meant for children in the back. Stop sitting back there and complaining. I am sure that nearly all buyers of this vehicle are families with younger children, who would love it back there. When I was a kid, we sat in the back third row, facing backwards, of our large 3 row station wagon. Realize the market. Although having two 3-row SUVs by the same manufacturer may not be necessary, you fold down the third row and say this is how it should be....wtf. So you can have it your way by folding down the third row, and someone else can have it their way by putting them up. Neither of you lose. Why should they get rid of the third row, when folding down those seats give people the best of both worlds? That's literally why they fold. Boggles the mind.

This vehicle is perfect for the father of 3 who doesn't have the kids frequently in his car, and who's wife has a minivan or larger SUV. Great daily driver, and can get 3 young kids in here no problem.

If you don’t like the 3rd row, don’t use it. Then you have tons of space. It’s for emergencies or young children.

I enjoyed your review and I will be subscribing. I am trying to decided whether to go with the KIA or the Highlander Hybrid. I dont need to tow or anything just want a SUV hybrid for me.

The third row is the only reason we are considering this vehicle. To knock it for it's primary attractive feature...really? My family (6) has looked at every three row hybrid, electric or phev suv on the market and the kids have universally voted the Sorento as the best back seat setup. The Highlander was too cramped and had a cupholder built into the floor. The Volvo X90 was too cramped and not nice enough to justify price, the Y was a joke and the X was too expensive and unreliable. The kids even preferred the sorento over the telluride.

3rd row should be optional. Many people want more cargo!!

the kia sorento hybrid comes with the option for a panoramic sunroof, it's an additional $1200 i believe.
