Reminds me of how I think mosquitoes would be a nice addition to the Wild Update. They'd be similar to fireflies, but would attack the player if they get too close. And they obviously wouldn't light up, but maybe they'd be slightly larger and with some red color. If they hit the player, they'd only deal a single point of damage (or maybe just zero?), _but_ their REAL danger would be that they give you a status effect that stops you from regenerating health for... Maybe a minute? And maybe there would be a very small chance that they actually poison you as well? Oh, and frogs can eat them, of course.
