Huge respect Garnt. One Piece seemed infinite, but now that you've caught up to the latest chapter it appears to be finite

I think the “badass hype” feeling for Gear 5 would build up when it finally gets animated. When that drums of liberation OST hits everyone would go insane.

"I always felt like Luffy was just a normal guy" I mean, he is the grandkid of the greatest marine ever, the son of the most wanted man in the world (that happens to have one of Luffy's brothers as his number 2) abd the brother of the king of the pirates son... but I feel what Garnt is saying lmao

So the take on Kaido is pretty common, I do personally think Kaido is a really interesting villain but just lacks that backstory to make him really engaging. I mean his quote about "You couldn't be Joyboy either, it seems" was one of my favourite quotes in entire show, and I couldn't wait for his backstory. But then when we did get it it was ultimately quite underwhelming at first, but now I'm thinking that Kaido will be a Arlong-like villain, in the sense that at first lacks development but gets development in a later arc. The reason I think for doing this is that we are definitely going to get a God Valley flashback, and I am convinced that Kaido is heavily linked to this and I feel this is the perfect time to develop Kaido as a villain.

I somewhat agree on the Gear 5 take. But at the same time the Luffy Vs Kaido fight was way different than any other fight. Luffy during this fight was constantly smiling. No matter how many times he falls down, he gets back up with a grin on his face. Its a clash between a man who wants to conquer and a man who simply desires freedom. So to end the fight with Luffy uncontrollably laughing with an ability thats basically freedom incarnate is just perfect. Also mere concept of the ability is genius, something only OnePiece could do.

the last 4minutes of this video are pure bliss never have i seen someone being so articulate about how i feel about one piece im really glad you took on this journey. it feels good to have someone out there who resonates with what you feel and interacts with you about it directly or indirectly

Man I can't belive it's been 4 Years since Wano started. It's been a wild ride and I personally think Wano is a really great and enjoyable Arc despite some of it's flaws. We've entered the endgame now and final saga so far has been amazing with back to back to back 10/10 chapters, one even crazier than the other. One Piece is also one if not the only manga / anime I'm dreading for it to end but also I NEED TO KNOW ALL OF THE QUESTIONS I'VE HAD FOR Y E A R S. I'm all in for the final stretch of the story, let's see where Oda takes us. The future is bright and it's going to be a wild ride :D.

About Luffy feeling destined to be the saviour: This has been going on for a long while, he is related to some of the most important characters of the setting, not to mention the D. While the fruit awakening might seem like a gifted power up, you have to remember that it has to be earned. Kaido said something like "Your body is finally catching up to the potential of your fruit". Luffy is the first person in 800 years to awaken this Devil Fruit, so I definitely say he's earned it.

One of the things that are still sinking in my head is the Straw Hats being an Emperor's crew now officially. This feeling where you see these characters are in the same lvl of those big name pirates is still unbelievable. But it also adds up to that "We are in the Endgame now" vibe of the story. Really hype and kinda sad that we are in the last leg of the journey

I actually just started One Piece two days ago! It's been really fun so far, and I'm pumped for what's coming up, given how small scale the battles are right now! Definitely glad I finally took the plunge!

Not liking gear 5th is absolutely insane to me. The way it captures the spirit of the series is unlike anything I've ever seen.

I started the One Piece manga on March 31st this year after you guys talked about it on the charity stream and I fully caught up last week. My life is changed.

As the gorasei said, many people have previously had luffys fruit, but he is the first to awaken it. So he wasn’t destined. He worked for it.

To me Wano was a 11/10 arc with some 3/10 detalls sprinkled in. Still my third favorite arc after Ennies Lobby and Marineford and undoubtedly has some of the best moments in the entire story. Also that woodcut print is the coolest thing ever congrats!

Luffy's never been just a random young buck, the story's set him up for greatness ever since the beginning. I loved G5. Initially I was scared that it would be a little too "epic" or serious for Luffy, but the fruit's ethos just fits him perfectly. It's all the more hype to know that the fruit has some type of agency (escaping the marines), so it might have specifically searched for this dumbass, goofy ass kid with a hard head and big dream of freedom.

I love this review even though I disagree with some things you said about the arc, you have your honest opinions and I have much respect for it! That's what I'm loving about how the anime is adapting rn and making the off screen fights be alive! and now adding more character to kaido's dialogue and adding more feeling into kaido's character that's what I feel like what is better then how they did in the manga so far

I always wondered why garnt never made a video on one piece despite the fact he has said so many times how much of big fan he is. This video kinda of makes you realise why. For a video you have to analyse this story, characters and all, but when you have a story where you just want to enjoy, which close to your heart it’s difficult to analyse.

It's been 2 years since I started One Piece, I got caught up a few months ago. It's by far my favorite manga, I've had so much fun with it throughout the pandemic

I agree that Luffy vs Kaido's conclusion lacked the impact some of the previous fights had, but I don't think it has anything to do with Luffy being "the chosen one" because that's been true from the very start of the series... Not sure where this idea comes from but it's really silly IMO, inherited will is probably the single most important theme of the entire series. The One Piece itself is most likely going to be or tie into Joyboy's will being inherited by whoever finds it.

About the gear 5 "chosen one" feeling. This is my take. Let's say you received an amazing pc but you have absolutely 0 knowledge of how it works, and how the internet works, social media and stuff like that. "Here you have an amazing pc... That has features you didn't even knew about... Would you become the best streamer ever?" probably no, if you don't have what it takes. That's the same thing going on with Luffy's fruit. There's a reason Luffy is the first one in 800 years to awaken the fruit. He's no the" chosen one". He earned it. But hey, that's just my take.

I definitely feel you on the emotional aspect not quite being there, but on the Gear 5th "Chosen One" point I would like to point out that Roger, Garp, and Shanks all exist, and they only use Haki. Technically "anyone" can be a top-tier in One Piece with sheer willpower, so I feel like the whole "Chosen One" aspect of the Nika fruit doesn't change that too much. Hell, Kaido had to fight so many people on that roof that I'm barely comfortable saying Luffy won that fight. I think if Luffy strolled up there and tried to 1v1 a fully rested Kaido in Gear 5th he would lose.

the day one piece ends i am gonna cry like a baby, I don't think any piece of media can make feel like that. I'm glad that I stepped on this gemstone and now its a part of my life.

What? They've literally been building up to Gear 5 since like chapter 1. He literally has D. in his name, indicating that he was someone special and one of the few with that name. He's also been leading towards awakening his Devil Fruit ever since he started creating gears, which were inventive and wacky ways to utilize his supposedly relatively weak Devil Fruit. Also Shanks was the one in possession of the fruit having presumably taken hold of it to protect it.

I've seen some people tossing around the idea about earning Gear 5. My favorite take about it was about how to reach that point. Sure, in this fight, it's just a sudden gimmick to win, but the big picture is that Luffy did kinda earn it. Anyone else BUT Luffy, if they had eaten that fruit, would have probably died or never mastered their abilities enough or at least it's easy to believe only someone crazy like Luffy could survive long enough with it and train with it in harder and harder challenges. Being told your powers are to just be stretching rubber, most would just be like, "Oh I got a shitty one." However our mad lad Luffy made it work, came up with technique after technique, and now it's paying off for reaching the end. It's like suddenly hitting max level in your gimmick build and it finally just works so well you seem to instantly win.

Act 1: hype Act 2: slow n boring Act 3: exciting Ending: way too rushed.

100% agreed Grant. Especially on the point of simply enjoying One Piece as it comes each chapter and not needing a critical eye for it, can't wait to see what Oda has in store for the final Saga.

Gear 5 is the culmination of all of luffy had learn since the beginning by pushing the limitations of his fruits to the limits till he Finally awakened it.

That’s something I wish people paid attention more with. When it comes to foreshadowing and build up. You can hype an artist all day and night about how much they are building up a certain person or a certain new chapter into the story. But at the end of the day if people didn’t care about the arc or the actual character itself. You can give credit where credit is due about building up something. But If you generally just do not give a damn about what is going on no one should criticize you for being honest. Some people are disappointed some people are amazed but everyone is different.

Around 10 years ago I've attempted to watch it in english dub along with Bleach and Naruto, as my first step into the world of anime (not counting stuff that was airing on Fox Kids / Jetix way before then - Pokemon/Digimon/Medabots/Tekkaman Blade/etc.), but I simply couldn't stomach it along with the art style... Now, after all this time watching all kinds anime (both english dubs and japanese dubs, a.k.a. subs) I gave it another shot, this time subbed and I must say, it got me hooked. I guess there is one hell of a journey ahead of me...

I disagree, Gear 5 or awakening is still earned, Luffy getting better and better with his fruit throughout the years, when Luffy blew up his arm and used Gear 3 without blowing air into it in the sumo match at the beginning of Wano, and in the Kaido fight switching from Snake Man into Bounce Man without powering down showed that he was close to awakening.

I have to say, Wano had some of the BEST plot points and hype moments so far. But it sheer length bumped it down several notches. If you think "wow its one of the best arcs of all time" always ask you this question: "Would I read it (or watch it) again because its so great?" If the answer is no, because parts are so f*cking tedious that you want to claw your eyes out, then its not a good arc overall regardless how amazing some moments were.

To me, the amnesia from big mom was useful to show that King was something more than comedy relief. And that even not be as powerful as Big Mom or Kaido, the seconds were no joke. And it begins to make Big Mom and Kaido more human. They can really lose

The last act of Wano felt rushed, I strongly believe that Oda planned for more chapters to better flush out character arcs for Momo, Yamato, Hiyori and maybe Kaidou but he was out of time, the hiatus was already scheduled and he had to finish Wano before it.

I don't think we're done with Kaido yet, I think Oda is saving a lot of stuff for the Rox flashback...

When I started one piece I said "man there are WAY too many episodes, chapters and volumes" But now that the end is near, which I AM NOT READY FOR, WHAT?! There aren't enough.

"Maybe I'll do it a video when it ends who knows" We all them well as soon as Oda drops the last chapter a 10m01s video is coming on the main channel with 3min of very long intro with a hyped voice with a Boksu sponsorship at the start, followed by a 5min segment memeing the One Piece community imitating with a funny voice a fan saying that Oda is the GOAT with an Honkai Impact 3rd sponso in the middle, and finally a very serious ending saying that there's never gonna be an other manga like OnePiece and finally a bookwalker sponso at the end

I really feel like Luffy earned his awakening because he trained with that fruit ever since he was a child. Also no one awakened it for 800 years. Who knows how many users of that fruit perished not knowing they've not awakened it.

Wano is the same as Chimera ant arc from HxH in my eyes. They both have 11/10 moments but also 4/10 moments that sour it a little. both are amazing but have things that hold em back.

i think the only take i don't agree with is that luffy was just a normal dude and this destined person aspect is a new one. luffy was foreshadowed to be destined for something big pretty much since early arcs, it's that for a while we thought it only meant destined to be the next pirate king. arcs like logue town where he was heavily implied to be like a second-coming of roger to the audiences (only it was the beginning of his journey - prologue / end of roger's - epilogue), or how he was revealed to hear the "voice of the universe" and sea kings only very specific chosen few did (roger being the most heavily implied as a parallel), or how shanks didn't just give his hat to luffy bc he loved the kid but bc he said the exact same words as his captain confirmed by rayleigh in sabaody who also drew up a bunch of heavy This The One We Waited For parallels for luffy too. at that point we just didn't know the full capacity of what they meant with it, we just thought it was about being the next pirate king after roger. but the moment they revealed that the world government was afraid of a certain person who's gonna bring along the biggest conflict of the world it was pretty 1+1 that this was a prophecy situation with that certain person 100% being luffy. it fit like a glove narratively too. this is probably the part why i'm surprised that anyone is surprised that luffy is a destined person in the narrative. like it's right there. when they started name dropping joy boy who a bunch of ppl are waiting for the doubt that it wasn't luffy was pretty freaking low in most audiences. there's a lot of ethos and prophecy aura around luffy's charter and charisma and the words he speaks or the paths he takes all throughout the story and not in a normal dude could do this if he was the mc way. luffy might not have had a "prince that was promised" explicitly spelled out backstory with his name stamped onto it in a text bubble, but he pretty much has all the context implication pressed heavily into the fabric of the pages. imo in almost all ways luffy had the air of the destined hanging around him for a long time, what actually happened in wano wasn't a reveal about *luffy* being a destined person, but that his *fruit* had this ethos around it that also supports this narrative. that's the only reveal in all this to me, the rest is just confirmation of everything else the plot already very surely implied. but it also has to be pointed out that even with the reveal of this fruit having this ethos around it oda built it in that it has to be earned. devil fruits are all about how you use them, this is something that has been established since the start. for 800 years to the rest it was just a useless gum gum fruit even if in reality it was this super cool god fruit all along. luffy's freedom of mind and personality, his limitless creativity that brought him to that point till he awakened G5? it was earned even if he narratively fits the chosen one at the end. anyway i ranted way too long, i love that you love one piece and talk about it more recently! i agree with pretty much everything else. i personally loved wano 10/10 and at this point in my life i strongly believe that us "chunk readers" have a way better experience with overall arcs than weekly readers whose wait time easily turns into frustration and sours a lot of it.

Yessir , One of us! I feel like the anime will make the conclusion of the arc more epic, hopefully expand a bit more on kaido's past.

With regards to Kaido I still feel that we're going to get more context of his character in the future. It feels like he's holding back key information on Kaido in order to expand his character later on when we hopefully get further information on Rocks. I could be wrong and this might be a mistep from Oda, but from my perspective I think a Rocks flashback will add those missing layers to Kaido and possibly others like Whitebeard and Big Mom. I hope that's the case, otherwise I'll accept its a rare mistep

Garnt thinking One Piece is gonna end soon. Luffy in chapter 1060 stating that becoming Pirate King is only a step to his true goal

I think wano was like the chimera ant arc in HxH. Some people will swear it’s the best arc. And for some it’s just dragged on waaay to long and too many characters that people didn’t care about. It had great moments, but unfortunately the sheer amount of other things going on just dragged the whole experience down.

Wano is so bizarre, a lot of it actually feels kind of rushed, especially parts of the raid, Kaido’s character, the straw hat fights other than Luffy but at the same time we were in the arc for 4 years! I’m not going to lie as a massive One Piece fan I wanted a bit more out of several plot threads and could have stayed in Wano another year but at the same time when people complain about Wano being too long I can see where they are coming from, it’s strange. I feel like Oda just built up way too many cool story threads to be able to fully deliver on all of them, it felt like he kind of threw in the towel towards the end of the arc and just cut a bunch of shit and it makes things feel rushed and too long at the same time. That being said i still really enjoyed it and i think Wano will age well, there are a bunch of incredible moments in Wano and moments like Gear 5, Luffy splitting the sky, Luffy’s first Red Roc to Kaido, etc. etc. so many to choose from, emotional/epic moments are what stand the test of time.

After I watch the ending of a great anime I always feel almost empty for like a day or two... But when One Piece ends I feel like I'll get that feeling times 10. I've been following this show since I was 12, I am now 22. An anime I watched/read for 10 years vs an anime I finished in a couple of weeks. I'm excited to see how it ends but I don't want it to end...

Wano is the best one piece arc for sure for me. After finishing Enie’s Lobby I thought it’d never be topped. Then Dressrosa came along and set the bar even higher. And then Wano was even better. Oda gets better with age. Brilliant writer

"I am Oden! I was made to Boil!" Might legitimately be one of the most badass lines from a character with context I've ever read.

Ok but now here is the thing, start again, the pages change, it's like magic, knowning what you know now about the world, starting again, you see so much forshadowing, so many things that you casually passed over that have entirely new meaning now that you the reader know more now then you did then, such an amazing experience that you get to relive again

As far as Wano goes despite it's cons and the very last chap 1057 of the arc it's still a Top 5 arc for me and I felt that way before Roof Piece and the epic new forms plus now that you're caught up you gotta endure like the rest of us lmao

the only thing i didnt agree with the idea that luffy having this mythical fruit made it worse was the fact that the revalation of it being a mythical zone changed literally nothing of the events that already happened the fruit was still absolute garbage up to that point.

I think you really miss a very fundamental part about Luffy in particular. He is not like every other anime protagonist with hard work and slowly powering up and he never was. Some of his crew is like this, for example Zoro, but not Luffy. From the start of the series, Luffy was Overpowered. It took him until crocodile to actually have a hard fight. Then he powered up in between, but not because he trained like hell, he just felt forced to power up and used his imagination and will. That is how gear 2nd and gear 3rd came to be, one day he suddenly had that power. Then he had to work hard to learn haki, but not for gear 4th. Gear 4th came to be with his imagination after learning about haki and thinking of a move. But gear 5th was just like the culmination of all of his powers. Now it makes sense how he can just use his "Rubber" power in very abstract and goofy ways. Sure his body was durable because it was rubber, but that in no way makes it possible for him to speed up his blood circulation for gear 2nd or blow up air in his bones with gear 3rd. For gear 5th, he had to train, he had to use his imagination and willpower and he had to be backed into a corner while figting for somebodies freedom. I dont think any other super saiyan transformation would have fit Luffy better. Sure he could have had a sleek and very fast form out of anger like Goku, but then it would still be just a copy of DBZ and not really fit the character. Luffy does not power up when he gets angry, he powers up when he gets angry, then he gets desperate and then he uses his imagination to invent a new way to use his powers. He uses frustration to broaden his horizons, which gives him the power up.

Bro, I think Kaido is one of the most interesting villain in One Piece The kanji Kaido (快童/怪童) means "joy boy /strong kid". He's just a man who want to become Joy Boy but failed. He want to bring smile to everyone hence "SMILE" devil fruit. He stays in Wano because Joy Boy who can open the Wano country. The man just is wrong on how to represent becoming Joy Boy actually is. I think he already know that he could not becoming Joy Boy, so he getting stronger and stronger until met someone who could actually beat him He believe that the only one who can beat him is the real Joy Boy and that's Luffy

Without reading the manga, the anime is insanely hype lately! It should be said the animation quality is amazing even when it doesn't need to be.

I you wonder, people don't remember single pannels from hundreds of chapters ago, they just read One Piece again and see the pannel and go "hey I've seen that"

The chemistry between Luffy, Law and Kid and there stupid competitions is great, If you dodge first your chicken… You’re going down the waterfall the safe way? Both absolutely hilarious

It had some fumbles here and there. But this was a good test run for Oda when he writes the final arc. It's good to know even Oda has growing pains, as long as they're worked out by the final saga in 10 years or so. Gear 5th is a perfect form from this series, and I prefer it over the fan theory versions where it's a super buff Luffy clad completely in Haki and he has a DBZ Ki aura or something. For all its faults, this arc was us being able to witness the rise of a Yonko, whose power can only continue to grow as they laugh at their enemies with their iconic smile. Also, Luffy became a Yonko, too, I guess.

Finally someone from YT anime community said it that gear 5 wasnt worth it and felt forced. Thank you! Garnt!!

The thing about Kaido is that we must remember his introduction, the guy is depressed to a suicidal level, Kaido is someone that never had much drive, he was strong but most of his choices were something made by other people, that is partially why he made an aliance with Big Mom, remember he had her dead to rights, had he wanted he kills her or forces her armies into subservience by holding her hostage, instead he fights a bit with her and then they make an alliance. Kaido is fickle in a way with his only true desire being a good fight and a good death hence his line, seems like you weren't Joyboy either, it could be taken as a mention to Oden, but also to himself, it seems like Kaido wanted Joyboy to exist, even if that meant his death, or maybe because that would mean his death. Also on the Gear 5 thing, that wasn't the only time it was foreshadowed, Luffy has been shown to have an insane resiliance and healing factor, which we just ignored and thought that Luffy was built different, being poisoned by Crocodile and somehow resisting the poison, surviving an amount of damage that almost killed Zoro in Thriller Bark, recovering from Ivankov treatment hours before the expected time, all of these examples made no sense, like the Red Hawk made no sense, but we assumed rule of cool was the reason, until we get the reveal of Gear 5 and the Hito Hito no mi, and after that, all those little things that made no sense suddenly have a clear reason why. Gear 5 retroactively fixes a lot of small plotholes most people didn't care about, plotholes that were very consistent, so seeing it in that light they don't seem like plotholes at all, they seem to be hints to Luffy's real fruit, which means that Oda had this planned since as early as episode 1 (no really, there is one line of dialogue in the manga that hints to the Hito Hito no mi in) which is completely insane to think about but I cannot dismiss the idea as impossible because this is ODA we are talking about.

Wano got some epic moment like all the kaido fighting scene. The minus point for this arc only about how little zoro portion is. I mean wano is japan theme country with lots of samurai and yet all he got is new sword and snippet of his back story to tell you about then sword blacksmith

reading One Piece weekly was insane after chapter 1000, I just remember the chapter where Luffy supposedly died and came back smiling while Zunisha saying he's back JOYBOY is back, I was literally in tears, and seeing the end of the BigMom fight when Law and Kid just stood there in the face of a pirate who could literally take your soul and trash talked her, and Law using Rosinantes ability was the icing on the cake, I was just so so happy and excited for those two, Its was like if my friends had done something amazing, any series that makes you feel that way is masterpiece in my opinion, chapter after chapter Oda gave me some of the most memorable moments of the last two years since I caught up, so I really relate to you not being able to look at One Piece with critical eye.

Roger himself (shanks) literally carrying forth their will (inherited Roger's Straw Hat from Shanks), bro must've also forgotten that inherited will is one of the most important themes of the series and that Luffy literally has a D in his name which means that by birth he is destined to carry forth an ancient will 😶‍🌫

i didnt really give it much thought at first but i think your take on it being slightly dissapointing the luffy is now "the chosen one" rather then a regular dude is spot on. It was definitely feeling like it was building up to something like that tho. I mean luffy has all the connection already like garp, dragon, sworn brother of ace who is literally the pirate kings song ect ect.

My fav thing about One Piece is how everyone gets to shine, its not as in most shows where the one special kid takes on everything and is a god. Here everyone takes a huge part in taking down the enemies.

*I have to strongly disagree with your opinion on Kaido, because I EFFING HATE this pretensions mindset that Villains have to deep and complex all the time,* I find that stupid and boring, Villains can just be simple and cool or just show you them being the Villain too. I agree that Gear's 5 could've been introduced better, and the final attack against Kaido could've been more... special. However, I absolutely _love_ Gear 5 thematically. It fits Luffy and the story *perfectly* .

it really is amazing how much reading weekly affects the reading expeirence vs reading in bulk. I did a full reread when oda took a month off after wano and i was amazed how many arc that i ened up hating and saying was trash(including wano) sudden was amazing and epic when it didn't take a 1+ years to consume it.

You’ve gotten caught up at the perfect time Garnt. As we go into the final saga it’s gonna be a rollercoaster every week One piece is quite daunting to newcomers because of the length of it but it is worth every minute you spend getting through it. One piece is a truly epic adventure with such an amazing and giant cast that can’t be matched in any other manga/show Been reading weekly for 10 years now and I’ve never been so hyped for Wano’s end as it truly does feel we are heading towards the end game now for the first time. With that excitement comes the realisation that one of the greatest stories ever told that I have followed for the past 10 years will eventually and soon come to an end. Never been a better time to be a one piece fan though! Things are about to get really spicy.

Been reading one piece weekly ever since I was in middle school, just the feeling of it maybe coming to a end soon makes me feel something between sadness and happiness

The way you enjoy One Piece is the way I enjoy One Piece. I'm so glad I caught up (literally right before Gear Five was about to drop - talk about TIMING!). I don't know if I'm ready for a world without One Piece running. But we will kinda get to do it twice - once the manga ends we jump back on the anime haha.

Luffy was always destined to be great, i mean just look at his family. Also he still has no idea that he has this special fruit, for him it is still the gomu gomu no mi and it is still his creativity that always gets him the victory, he has always been super creative with all his gears and gear 5 is the pinnacle of creativity and perfectly fits his character.

I have been through depression and wanting to know how one piece ends is what kept me alive. I'm so much better now, just hope I won't get depressed again after one piece ends.

Wano had its moment, but it was OK at most. And i also dont know how to feel about luffy and his destiny, it feels like Naruto at first beign forced to actually forge a name for himself, and then at the end we learn that he was destined to have the power to basically do what he wants.

I can understand that having Luffy as Joyboy kind of take out the everyone can do it feel but we are in the end game of one piece so it is something that kind of have to happen to start wrapping the story up.

As someone who is not a one piece fan I was just decided to watch this one because it’s Giggix I enjoyed his videos quite a bit and honestly I will give it to you guys as a community you have dedicated so much time to one piece there is no way on earth I am going to be able to get into this series

I have a soft place for Wano because I am following it for 2 years now but I want to say that you have the most healthy opinion on Wano arc in my opinion (Tekken as well)

The Big Mom amnesia thing actually had some relevance towards the arc. But it was mostly just a plot device to break Luffy out of Udon prison.

Considering that Luffy has the D. initial, he was already destined for greatness long before the gear 5 stuff. His dad being the most wanted man and his grandad being one of the strongest marines, so Luffy wasn't exactly some nobody.

After the opening I know this is going to be awesome

Even though I can look at one piece through my usual critical lens, whenever I actually read or watch ANY chapter/episode, I am constantly filled with this indescribable joy just seeing anything happen. Especially after taking a break, watching other stuff and coming back to one piece, I start to focus on every single tiny detail and it makes me appreciate it beyond anything I can say. Thank you for saying your criticisms on wano in a way which isn’t provocative, I’m glad you stayed out of one piece drama, it’s a hellhole. Now into the final arc!

To this day I still view Alabasta as the best arc but maybe my mind would change if I went back and rewatched it but that is when I truly started to grasp the scale that one piece would consist of
