I like this game mode, after playing it for 10 hours straight and then pretending ranked is the hero mastery mode, I successfully dropped from GM to Masters.

I've personally enjoyed these hero mastery courses - the Mercy one for GA mechanics, Tracer's for blink tech to get to slightly higher ledges and promoting low health recalls, etc. - but I do agree that including PvE tech with the chain lightning doesn't make sense. A player new to Winston is going to think that's how it works in the far more prevalent PvP game modes. I can also see patch nerfs & buffs messing up these courses... Edit: realizing that the explodey containers and ult charge packs don't exist in the normal game either, but idk, those don't bother me as much for whatever reason. Difference of "random stuff to interact with in the environment" v. "character mechanics" I guess. The emblems of course are to promote exploration and suggest pathing, so those are fine

Can confirm the patch changes affecting courses, the buff to his secondary fire range (30m > 40m) made a bunch of these parts way easier, like the 4 snipers on the straightaway can just be sniped no problem

@@icedlava7063hero master is LITERALLY advertised as mastering a hero. You don't give a hero abilities it doesn't have because it doesn't make sense. These are fun for vets but for newbies this is how they're going to learn the hero.

You can get softlocked in the third one at total random btw. The two enemies on that lower ledge in the first area sometimes just don’t spawn and you can’t progress if that happens

I think Agent Tracer has these two patrolling pods that only spawned with their tank bots once for me, so I can’t 100% them.

Why do the characters have the pve abilities? Seems a little strange for newer players no? I could totally see a new player thinking he has a chain lighting ability... Seems like a massive oversight they forgot about.

2 tips for everyone, in veteran the 2 low bots can be pushed down by jumping (not by landing but by jumping next to them, way faster) and between 2nd and 3rd room you can jump up to recharge primal, enjoy

I wonder if you’re on kings row you can jump under the map and primal outta the gap near the defense spawn to surprise them. Would that be useful? Prolly not but it’d be interesting to see

You can if you time it right, but I’m not sure if it would be useful. Primal isn’t exactly a game-winning ult on its own

@joelhess1436 juggling is one of the most mechanically demanding things in the game so don't worry you'll get there. There's a really good workshop mode to practise juggling on if you look up karqs video with yakpung you'll find the code and loads of tips

You need to line up your shot before you drop down. Easiest to find an object that lines up with the cooresponding object when you are underneath. It'll take a few attempts but after you learn axis angles it's cake.

Am I the only one that doesn't find it weird the mode where you kill bots has the kits from the other mode where you kit bots not the balanced multiplayer environment with frequent balance changes?

thats such a dumb perspective, just because both gamemodes your killing bots doesnt mean their the same, the point of the hero mastery is to learn the hero, although if you play it then your learning the PVE version of the hero, not the PVP, and PVP is certainly still the main focus of the game.

@@faceless58 isn't that supposed to be the whole point of hero *mastery*, you *mastering* the heroes? Using PvP settings has its own flaws, like what if an ability gets significantly altered or completely changed, but it's still what should be used imo.

@@jase7401 It's kinda weird giving the heros abilities that they don't have in the pvp modes, like Winston having spread damage when using his right click. This mode was announced as a training mode to get better with the hero, but it's just confusing for newer players like me. I saw the spread damage and was confused why I never saw that in regular matches, so why give it to him in this mode, where you're supposedly training for regular matches.

Yeah these courses make absolutely no sense to me. One they aren’t fun and two, it’s not a good representation of what players do. If this was just for people who would rather not play compet or I ranked it needs way more going on to be fun

@@faceless58 i don't think so, they usually take all of the event, even the event itself. Plus, it wouldn't make sense to take away the challenges in the first place. It would just be like a big middle finger with no reason behind it. That's why it wouldn't make sense to take away the challenges if they just solely take the challenges away only.

@@aerostar1334 Hero mastery is permanent dog. It has its own tab in the main Play menu, and the event challenges are to celebrate the release.

Holy crap if anyone is reading this. Over the grueling task of trying increase my rank, I've found two glitches for Winston (I don't play the others) One, if you retry too often, occasionally the on screen display of just Winston's half is deactivate making it impossible to time cooldowns or even see your own HP. I could care less about the fact timing scores seemingly are random as I've cleared with 100% more time than a previous best with a lower bonus. No it's the fact on an extremely low basis (I've ran several hundred times now) that I'll somehow start behind the spawn door with anywhere from (6) to (18) points on my scoreboard. Not sure if you can manually trigger those two issues but still...
