Yes, Yes, YES! There is absolutely nothing better than hearing them singing in Korean. It is just so much *more*, for lack of a better word. I can't even explain it. It just hits in a way that them singing in another language doesn't do. Even when they have songs that are put out in Japanese, the Korean versions just have something that the Japanese versions don't. Also, thank you for this video being Spring Day. I think of my mom when I hear it. I've been pretty down lately, and I didn't even realize I needed to hear this song until I saw this video. Reminds me of all the good times we shared and that someday the spring will come and I'll get to see her and hug her again.

I don't remember if you watched the explained videos to the actual MV, Nico. But if not, make sure you guys do. As the song is connected to the Sewol Ferry incident (hundreds of school kids drowned in the ferry cuz authorities made them stay inside the ship instead of evacuating) and even tho the boys never confirmed that it indeed was connected, the MV, the lyrics as well as the choreo (intro formation looking like a boat with Jimin being a passanger who can't get off and then being swept away by waves) heavily suggest that it's about the incident.

There is something so special about this dance. AJJ, you are right on the money when you say that even the smallest, simplest moves are packed with passion; all seven boys really came together and fully physically conveyed all the pain and longing in this song in the most beautiful way possible. When you guys say there's "just something different" about this choreo, you might say that because this choreo has a lot more influence from contemporary dance (Jimin's specialty) than it does from urban dance, which is unusual for BTS. It's more flowing, lacks aggression, and most of the time it has the boys maintaining a higher center of gravity than usual. The biggest thing that sets it apart from other BTS choreo, though, is that it's storytelling choreo. There are only a few other songs in their catalog that get this treatment: "I'm Fine" is probably second place to "Spring Day" as far as how _much_ of the message of the song is conveyed through the dancing, while "Fake Love" and "Not Today" are also very complex and illustrative. I personally find BTS's storytelling choreo to consistently be not only some of their most emotional, but their most challenging. "Spring Day" may not be as challenging on a technical level as those other three (...except the whole sliding-onto-the-floor-and-getting-back-up-with-no-hands thing), but it requires a whole lot of expressive skill, more than any other song they have. I'll never forget the first time I watched the live stages for this song. I had no idea Hoseok was going to sing in them. But when Hobi came out on stage before anyone else and started singing, I couldn't believe it. CANNOT even tell you how many times I played that back. About broke the back button LOL. i might be way too emotional for this cause one: that comeback stage is my first ever stage by bts that ive watched and i didnt stop watching for weeks bc it was mesmerising, two: spring day is my first song by them and the fact that this song is about missing lost friends so much (and a tribute to the tragic ferry incident) is still to this day touched my heart, three: i feel nostalgic bc its my first exposure to them and this just revives back the feelings i had back then brb imma just sob real quick bc i got thinking about how far theyve come

Honestly forget about how awesome the practice video is, but to me what’s more amazing is how genuine those 3 guys on this channel are. Watching them you can’t spot them or feel like they are being fake for one second and you can tell how comfortable they are in their own skin, and it only takes real men to be and do that, not to forget how you get a sense of how real their friendship is which is now a day that’s hard to find! So honestly, it’s so easy to like those 3 guys, because you can never hate realness even if you wanted to.

This song and choreography is talking about the sewol ship incident where it took a lot of students lives that's why you can see them standing like they hold on handle and shaking (like in the bus) they even made the replica of a ship and showing the goodbye of the student who's save and died in that incident that's what made this song so much beautiful

I could analyze this choreo over and over again!! There’s so many small details. The big one that relate to the theory of this song- -when the boys come together the form that V shape it’s like representing the bow of a boat! -the fluid and group movements across the stage is like waves. - Jimin and Tae are most likely representing the victims of the incident and the loneliness and separation from life and loved ones -Jin and Yoongi are like the survivors longing and reaching out towards those they have lost. -they do small moments that mimic being on train like holding their hands up on the “bars” and bouncing slightly. -also there is another beautiful live performance of Spring Day where the entire stage is set to the images of being underwater. Which is both beautiful & tragic. -literally there’s so much!!!!! I could keep going.

The person who captures my attention most during a dance practice always fluctuates but I always focus on J-Hope at least one time through each video because he's the one performing it exactly, precisely as it's intended to be. He executes every single small detail--like with the fingers. You guys know, in a choreo, there are so many little steps and intricacies but these guys are also singing and trying to focus on being in sync and having stage awareness so the little things sometimes get a little less sharp. But J-Hope doesn't let anything get less sharp ever. It's so impressive. Really, he's just astounding.

Okay, I just feel compelled to share my story with BTS and this particular song. My husband passed away in late December of 2018. He had a heart attack and died in my arms. Luckily, our four children were not home at the time, so they didn’t have to see and remember something so traumatic. I’m only 45.... my husband 54, so even though we all know that death can happen at anytime, I never thought that this would be my future. Not now! I kind of floated emotionless through everything for a long time. I honestly still am. He was my everything ..... my best friend. Christmas will always hurt now for all of us as well. So fast forward to a Saturday night that I was up alone (insomnia) but the kids were all sleeping beside me and I decide to watch Saturday night live. Here’s this South Korean band that I’ve never heard of that does Boy with Luv and Mic Drop. Before I realized what was happening.....I was smiling from ear to ear! So now I go on my phone and hit Apple Music to hear more songs cause I “kinda liked them”. First song I hit is Spring Day. I had headphones on and started playing it. What happened next is really hard to put into words. I understood nothing, of course but felt the loneliness in the song and instantly connected with it. I felt the anguish when I heard Taeyong’s haunted lyrics and the beautiful harmonies that seemed to float over everything. Then Suga came in and I heard the anger in his voice and felt that shit HARD! So then the end comes and I hear Taeyong say IN ENGLISH.....”You know it all, you’re my best friend” and for the first time by myself.....I wept for hours. If my kids hadn’t been there I would’ve screamed and broke anything I could see! I try to believe that everything happens for a reason. The day my husband died he should’ve been at work two hours away, but got off early and came home. I got to hold him and tell him how very much I loved him. I NEVER watch Saturday Night Live anymore, but I did the night BTS was on. And Spring Day was the first song I heard after that. My youngest son woke up the next morning and I showed him one of their videos and he was HOOKED! It was Save Me, by the way. I didn’t look up their lyrics in English for almost six months. When I did I was wrecked again at how these men were actually saying what I was feeling from them! They transcend language barriers with the emotion they express and portray. My son really wanted to see them in concert, as well did I! But he has epilepsy and flashing lights can cause seizures. So we went to his doctor and got medicine so he could go! It was supposed to be June 5th 2020.......you know where I’m going here, I think. Yup...cancelled due to COVID-19! Damn it, we just can’t catch a break. But we are hard core ARMY and we’ll wait. Sorry this was so long! I just never talk to other adults anymore, I’m always with my kids trying to work out real life problems. I was a stay at home Mom for two decades before I found myself in this position alone with no support. Ugh! Anyways.....I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH! Y’all make me laugh and feel like I’m watching with friends or family. I appreciate you guys so very much 💜

The camera is far away because you're supposed to see them all at the same time to see the illusion they're creating of all being faded images of 1 person at all times, 1 person walking through all these things going on around them, sometimes mirroring them. Such amazing choreography, you do yourself a disservice by trying to look at any specific member other than the one that is currently doing the walking or being "in the moment". The whole thing tells a beautiful story of someone who is missing their friends, first 30 seconds is completely breathtaking!
