Cobra Kai is a spin-off series off the Karate Kid Franchise and in this Cobra Kai season 5 review, I will give my honest thoughts as to what I thought about the season and the Netflix original series. This season brings back both Sean Kanan as Mike Barnes and Yuji Okumoto as Chozen Toguchi from previous Karate Kid films, as well as William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence, Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver, and Ralph Macchio as Daniel Larusson, the protagonist of the Karate Kid films. Honestly, Cobra Kai is bad and so predictable and has lost it's way. Cobra Kai is trash and warning, there are spoilers here. Cobra Kai season 5 sucks but if you do not care about spoilers, enjoy!

This season was much more over the top and cringy than season 4. I also thought the ending was rushed and disappointing, and they hardly used Mike Barnes.

In trying to out do the previous season, they just made it worse. What I hate is that it's basically about all these old men. They should be respected, but it should be about the students and how the lessons they learn from their senseis benefit them in life, not just Karate, and how the grow, become better people. Instead it's just about the ego, pride, and petty differences of the adults.

I appreciate your review. I feel so confused when people say that it's "the best season yet". You are right. They just care about fan service and cramming as many fight scenes in as they can rather than actual story development. The only thing I disagree with you on is the way that the Robby and Miguel beef was handled. I feel like we could have seen more of a build up to it. It felt weird that one episode they were fighting and then the next they were hugging and friendly. These boys have a lot of pain and trauma between them...feeling like you were replaced as your father's son and being nearly paralyzed for life by someone isn't something you get over overnight. Johnny just pressuring them to just get over it with some Olive Garden product placement made me cringe. The going to Mexico arc could have been a perfect opportunity for us to get a more realistic development of the enemies to brothers story arc. It annoyed me that the storyline was thrown away just to get more Daniel vs Silver crap. I just don't care about that storyline and I don't understand why I'm supposed to care. I thought this show was supposed to be about Johnny? I also wish we got more of Johnny and Robby working through their shit.....and just Johnny being there for Robby. Johnny abandoned Robby from day one and it feels unfair that it should be completely on Robby to just get over that just because Carmen is pregnant. I can't imagine how shitty that must feel to see that you weren't enough for your father to step up to the plate as your parent but this other kid is. I think it sends a bad message to children who have had absentee fathers. Oh yeah and I found Kim cringey and over the top and pointless too. I felt like I was playing Tekken 3 whenever I watched her lol. I would've rather Tory had a positive female role model in her life...someone who looked out for her and tried to help her kind of like Amanda did. I guess her mom being terminal and her struggling to keep a roof over her and her brother's head just didn't matter as much this season .

The beef between Robby and Miguel could have been handle better, but I did not want to see it dragged out any further. We would have gotten more to it, more to everything, if this show wasn't so focused on just being a continuation of the Karate Kid, rather than being Cobra Kai.

Worst writers ever they favour Miyagi Do and have them win every time, Cobra Kai always have to rely on cheating tactics to win, I thought Cobra Kai was gonna be different? Their sexist too the way they have Tory lose so easily to Robby, Cobra Kai are 0 threat, Robby beating the whole dojo in S4 episode 1 was stupid. They ruined the Mexico arc after that being hyped for years. Sam is a terrible character and she's never lost on the show not once, she's painted as a Mary Sue by the writers who just want Tory hated. They nerfed Kim for some reason, she should have been much more of a threat, she didn't even fight any of the men. The rumble's at the end of every season so predictable. Daniel never shuts up about Mr Miyagi either, him beating Silver so easily was cringe and stupid. They literally rehased KK3 with Daniel v Silver including Chozen, the writers are hacks and just copy repeat the KK films and other films. Johnny beating all the sensei's largely on his own was nonsense too.

It REALLY bothers me how dumb they are making Johnny. Like Double Toasted said "Homer Simpson level dumb". I get it's funny every once in a while but it's just getting over the top. I feel bad for Billy Zabka because he is so talented and he deserves the chance to get to work with much more nuanced material than that.

I love COBRA KAI but also see your valid points about the show's predictability : Season 1 - Johnny Lawrence wins and Miguel Diaz rises. Season 2 - Johnny Lawrence loses, Miguel Diaz falls and John Kreese wins. Season 3 - John Kreese issues a challenge to Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso. Season 4 - Terry Silver wins and Cobra Kai rises while John Kreese loses and goes to jail. Season 5 - Daniel LaRusso wins, Terry Silver loses and Cobra Kai comes crashing down. A distinct pattern emerges. Season 6 - Daniel LaRusso loses ??? Miyagi Do falls ??? Cobra Kai avenged ???

There's just too much info to say on this that most ppl don't got time or willingness to read. But long story shorter: 1) They added way too many characters. Did the KK movies need that, get to know entire dojo to be badass movies? No! 2) It started fine and good with first two seasons, then it got out of hand. Who wanna learn karate at what dojo, which girl/boy likes whom, way too many back & forth issues here. 3) No Consequences what so ever. Destroy this, destroy that, beat ppl up left and right, breaking Demetri's arm and a cpl of episodes it's all fine and best bros again... *TLDR section:* I'll just add that I thought this show was about Johnny and Daniel with a cpl of FEW students at the most. Not to get to know the entire valley or the city itself. Feels like after they got a good start with the first 2 seasons they became sloppy and with Netflix push to add more characters from KK universe just to play on the nostalgic valeu. I'm honestly at the point where I don't even care what dojo will win that master championship. Would been awesome if Johnny got his dream to (re)open his version of Cobra Kai. I said it in other comment sections from other content creators about that "pottery girl" from KK3 and she will be added, just...because, and they did, yay. She "needed" to be added so she could tell Amanda to ease off Daniel. Or that Yuna girl from KK2 movie Daniel saved to be someone who came out of nowhere to save his work etc etc. How convenient indeed... ENDING OF ESSAY After all Johnny's screw-ups and even being pestered by his own friends at the pool bar that he started up CK again but a different kind to make it better and learn from previous misstakes. No insted we got a 3rd dojo and so many characters and plots that it's hard to even follow or care anymore.

Great video and appreciate your point(s) of view 🔥 Season 5 played out how I expected it to be, the climax of all the buildup from the previous seasons. Yes, at times this season was difficult to suspend disbelief (as it has been the case several times since the Season 2 finale) but it served it's purpose. I agree that Terry Silver makes for a better villain (because he is bats*** insane ever since his cocaine-fueled debut in KK3) and I always felt that John Kreese was more anti-villain than full-blown villain. I anticipate Season 6 to be the falling action/resolution/back to realism (be that the creators from the get-go planned the sixth season to be the final one) and the only way that I see this playing out is through The Sekai Taikai World Tournament. I hope "The Super Bowl of Karate" takes place on foreign soil (South Korea, perhaps) which would take the cast out of The Valley (finally!) and on the world stage. It will be so cool to see everyone out of their element and into a different metropolis and culture like Seoul, South Korea, for I feel that this may be the best approach for Season 6 after the intense drama that was/is Season 5. Furthermore, it never sat well with me that, outside of the occasional visit to Okinawa, Japan, majority of the Karate Kid/Cobra Kai Universe takes place in The Valley. The scenario also has me thinking that the international competition would be somewhat direct reflections and/or foils to Miguel, Robby, Sam, Tori, Hawk, and Demetri Of course, the gang has to be on 24/7 to make sure Johnny does not incite an international incident 🤣 With Silver imprisoned, Kim Da-Eun would take the "big bad" spot (but not really), for she is still yearning to preserve her family legacy. Terry Silver may be behind bars but he will play the shadow villain, for he has his associates and bountiful resources available on the outside. I am pretty sure Silver will pay for the best under-18 karate champion of the world to fight for Cobra Kai (ala Mike Barnes in KK3). Kreese returns in an anti-hero role this time, takes his vengeance against Terry by taking all his assets (somehow) and makes sure his former friend will rot in jail. Kreese will then try to be discreet (I am pretty sure the authorities are after him) in making final amends with Johnny (especially Johnny), Daniel, Tori, Robby, etc. It would also be interesting to witness Kreese possibly burying the hatchet of a decades-long grudge on behalf of his master, Kim Sun-Yung, with Chozen (who would be on behalf of his father, Sato) therefore bringing harmony to both dojos. I also hope that Kreese will ease Kim's heart and help preserve her family's legacy by opening a new dojo under "The Way of The Fist" moniker in South Korea, where subsequently Kreese will reside permanently and find solace (and escape from his criminal act(s) in America). I am sure that Hilary Swank's Julie Pierce will make her debut appearance in CK as she makes a trip from Boston (possibly a week of celebrating and/or commemorating the life of Mr. Miyagi). There, Julie will finally meet onscreen with Daniel and the rest of the cast and crew and assists Miyagi-Fang (particularly Sam, Tori, and Devon) to find true balance and harmony for the tournament before leaving back to Boston. Daniel, Johnny, and Chozen will continue to watch the progress of Miguel, Robby, Hawk, Demetri, Anthony, and possibly Kenny, whilst Mike Barnes, having restored his furniture business and then some (thanks to a certain Rembrandt painting), will be a major benefactor for Miyagi-Fang's trip to The Sekai Taikai World Tournament. I anticipate a bottle episode where the OG Karate Kids (including Amanda, Ali, Jessica, and Carmen) and the Kids of "Cobra Kai" separately hang out and hash out lingering tensions and plot holes before heading out to Korea. When the group gets to Korea, Chozen would be taken by surprise when Kumiko appears (on the behest of Daniel's call (and Chozen's drunken call 😏). We will finally see Chozen and Kumiko together. At the tournament, Sam will finally get her win over Tori in the Semi-Finals and subsequently, Devon will get her victory over Sam and be crowned champion. Kenny and Anthony will finally go up against one another but with mutual respect; Anthony will win. Demetri beats Anthony but loses to Hawk. The paid champ of Cobra Kai beats Hawk in the Semi-Final round and Robby will beat Miguel in the other Semi-Final round. Robbie will defeat Cobra Kai's champion to finally get his signature victory. Carmen, who is accompanying the trip, would go into labor immediately after the tournament and gives birth to a baby girl they will call Danielle 😉. The series ends with all the characters attending Johnny and Carmen's wedding with Peter Cetera's "Glory of Love" (1986) wrapping up the series Sidenote(s): 1) I do not care for Miguel's father to show up again. I do not see any point of having that in the plot. 2) Even if the creators decide to have Miyagi-Fang/Cobra Kai expats match up against the international competition at The Sekai Taikai World Tournament, there are some key matchups amongst said Miyagi-Fang and Cobra Kai expats that have to be made to settle some scores and lingering beef(s) before heading off for the tournament

@@reelthought3867 Hector was a plot device to have Miguel realize who his real father figure (Johnny) is and to expedite the process of having Miguel and Robby forgive and find common ground. As Robby put it, "Don't tell me it's a father-son bonding thing, because we could have done that 500 miles ago." I never liked the creators' decision for Miguel to look for his biological father, it felt out of nowhere and unnecessary. The two points that I thought salvaged the plotline was Johnny and Robby's shared screentime and the final scene when Miguel reunites with Johnny. If there was a do-over, Miguel would go to Mexico City and attempt to approach Hector but would have his Season 4 conversation with Johnny about fathers racing through his mind. Miguel sees Hector with his new family and how much it appears they love each other from afar. Miguel would save the child from the speeding car and the unsuspecting Hector would follow through to ask Miguel to have dinner with him and his new beau and child at their home (to which Miguel, of course, accepts). Throughout dinner, Miguel would be asking (subtly interrogating) Hector about his past, to which Hector replies that he had a previous relationship but did not pan out because both his ex-wife and mother-in-law were intolerable and impeded in his work. Hector also adds that both women were also ungrateful and he was glad that they left so that he would not deal with them anymore. To add one final nail to the coffin, Hector kisses his new beau and puts a loving hand over his other child's head, saying (and telling them) how much he loves them. Hector has to excuse himself from the dinner table, for he has an important phone call. Miguel feigns that he must use the bathroom and follows to overhear Hector's illegal propriety and that he has a "new recruit that they could break in and may be of use to them." A disturbed/downtrodden Miguel abruptly leaves, not before thanking the confused couple for the meal, and hurriedly sets out to head back home to Carmen, with tears strolling down his face. Johnny and Robby would still have their Mexico road trip, for I felt that that was a good (and fun) use of time for these two characters to interact outside of the frigid relations they showed to one another in previous seasons. The next scene with Miguel would be at the bus station, where he has been crying his heart out and saying how all of this was a mistake whilst talking to his mother on the phone. In between calls with Miguel, Carmen informs Johnny of her son's location and we have that well-done scene of Miguel reuniting with his true father figure (and Robby). This is my hasty retrospective rewrite but I feel that it would have made the storyline a tad better and unassuming than what we ultimately got

@@reelthought3867 I was coming from the thought of remedying the "Miguel looks for his biological father in Mexico" storyline but I much prefer your angle, for it would have saved a whole lot of time to focus on other subplots, as well as keep the storyline grounded, simple and logical, rather than excessive, inessential, and inorganic. To kill two birds with one stone, include Miguel to accompany Johnny and Robby on the U.S. Road Trip. That way it would have squashed Miguel and Robby's beef and strengthen the trio's bond(s) before their return to The Valley

I think Miguel’s arc was fine, he was trying to find who his father was, just to figure out how lucky he was and understood what his past was like. Miguel began to accept that Robby could be Johnny’s son, while he still hated him. Which ultimately led to their arc later in the season. In terms of Chozen, he felt in great debt to Daniel and disgrace for trying to kill him. This has been the case since Season 3, with him doing everything for him for Season 5. Terry Silver’s story with Daniel is something Chozen could tackle perfectly, Terry Silver is the complete opposite philosophy. He knew about Tang Soo Doo, and it was a perfect set up. It was never just fanservice, it was something that was inevitable that Chozen would accept. In terms of Cobra Kai. It needed to be put down. Everyone started out in Cobra Kai and left it. That’s because Cobra Kai is toxic, it turns kids anger into their fists which leads to them beating up others and showing no mercy. Terry kept that philosophy, and ran away from all his consequences. Everyone was on board to take Cobra Kai down for a reason. It’s not just Karate, it’s a gang of bullies that end up with a kids blood on their head. In terms of Kenny. You say he never landed a punch, even though he did in the pool fight. This was also before he turned his fear into aggression, became a leader, and gained confidence. Along with this, he had everything by fighting dirty with a move to one-shot that would’ve been accepted by a payed Ref. Along with Eli being cocky. In terms of Stingray, I would agree somewhat. Though it was a perfect place for Silver to jump Daniel. In terms of Amanada. Anger is not a reason for her to divorce him, they’ve been married for years and clearly realized why Daniel is affected by all the drama. I’d disagree with Kreese. It seemed like his arc was coming to a close by the end of the season, and with Silver being a greater villain, Kreese seemed like he was falling behind and had to go. In terms of Cobra Kai leaving. Silver never showed his true colours to his students, they weren’t ready. Once they realized that Silver was paying off the ref to fight unfairly, they quit because Silver wanted them to believe that at their core they were the best, but this threw out the window once the students realized that Terry was just paying a ref to get his dojo to succeed. Then the last straws are Daniel beating Silver, and Silver showing his true colours. Where he shares his real life views while drunk and outbursts exactly like in KK3, on how life is a competitive sport with no right or wrong. Daniel beating Silver makes sense. Silver was off balance from what I stated above, and Daniel had everyone behind him to support him while balanced and combining his styles. On top of that Daniel was able to predict, use, and counter the Quick Silver method since gaining balance allowed him to remember he was taught Cobra Kai by Silver.

Great review of this review. Yeah this guy is way too hard on this show and like you, I think most of the characters have made the kind of decisions that make sense for their character. I found it only somewhat predictable and maybe a little rushed at times but things like Johnny, Chozen and Mike going on a drunken rampage at Terrys house with bloody weapon scenes?...Not so predictable but wildly entertaining! I also think that Terrys "Thanos" persona of wanting to use Cobra Kai to take over the world is right in line with his character considering he's a rich old man wanting a better legacy.

And I know a couple. And with the *Technology* We have today, it's *Not* Impossible to *Learn* the *Japanese* Then running into *Kamiko* and *Nothing happens* What would've been *Great* for this *Love Triangle* is that he's having *Marital Problems* his *Wife* leaves him like he did in this Season. He has problems with his *Dealership* and he goes to *Japan* to *Fix* because that's his *Chain Connection* His *Life* starts *Falling apart* he *runs* into *Kamiko* and *Tension* start brewing between *Larusso* and *Kamiko* and they *Shack up* but he ends up having *Guilt* that he has a *Wife* or some shit like that. Then it would've looked a *HELL OF ALOT* more *Dynamic* and *Interesting* that He *Suprises* Kamiko by having a *Japanese Conversation* She get's *Surprised* because He *Never* spoke her *language* before and they *Embrace* eachother more. Would've looked more *Bad-ass* And he would've had some *Conflicts* of *Feelings* because the *Woman* Lived like a *Nun* for *30 Years* because *"No Man has ever Fought to The Death for Her"* it would've looked more *Powerful.* And *Realistic* and also the Biggest *Problem* being which I *Lost* a lot of a *Respect* for *Chozen's* Unapologetic *Simp* Behavior and *Breaking* the *Bro Code* since he's a *"Man of Honor"* and the *"Code of Honor"* is his *"Life"* but You want to be with The *Woman* that was the *Girlfriend* of your *Rival/Best Friend* who You was going to *Slit* her throat open if he have not *stepped* in. Because He's *Lonely?* Yeah..No Just No. He *should've* just had his *Honorable Death* just the way he wanted after his *Final Showdown* with *Silver.* But then *Survives* with a *Minor* scrapes and *bruises* which those *Slashes* and *Excessive* amount of *Bleeding* and for his *age* was supposed to *KILL* him. But We all *know* because of *Plot Armor* which was missing in the scene, he's *still* here. And I'm not looking forward to seeing *Larusso* walking *Kamiko* down the *Aisle* to be *Chozen's Best Man* The *Massive Disrespect.* Then to add *Insult* to *Injury* Larusso is *Ok* with this. And Not to be *Personal* but I *CUT off* alot of friends more than *Terry Silver* Cut off *Chozen* with his *Katana.* Because of that *Shit.* Larusso takes the Biggest *L* for this one, especially that this wasn't *just* his *First Love* in *Japan* but this is the *First Woman* he put his *Life* on the *Line* to *Protect.* And that's a Major *Dishonor.* and I don't have to be a *Karateman* or a *Samurai* to know that. And You think that at some *Point* in *Time* which *I* Strongly *Hate* to say this. But You'd think with all these *Decades* of *Training* that *Larusso* would look like *Ryu* at this *Point.* Nope, He looks like a Fucking *Stick Figure* with *Legs* and *Arms.* I *Swear* to *God* that's what it keeps reminding *Me* of everytime I see him *Move.* And *Bruce Lee* wasn't No *Rambo* and the *Man* was *130-140lb's* RIPPED. Look like he could *TEAR* off a *Dragon.* This is just *Lazy.* *Miguel* ? What a *Disgrace.* He *Lost* his *Edge* his *Eye of the Tiger* *Johnny Lawrence* yeah I don't know , I don't think I *Cringed* Harder with that *Stupid* Fucking *"Eagle Fang"* Shit. He was a *Die Hard* in the *Finale* but still *Dumber than Homer Simpson.* Yeah, I don't know...I'm *Pretty* much *done* with this *Show.* *Cobra Kai* is another *Prime Example* *You either Die a Cobra or Live Long Enough to see yourself become the Snake*

I think Mexico was a set up for something to come in season 6. I'm sure we will see Miguel's dad again and he will probably crash the wedding and a big fight will happen... (imagine me saying this with a tired voice and gosh I hope so much they don't go for a wedding..) Johnny has to be the one to create an own way with Daniel. Kreese over Silver any day of the week. I prefer villains with layers and nuances. There really are two many people, S5 was too packed with too many characters while they totaly trash plotted characters who actually matter... they make Johnny Lawlence cleaning the house and all his struggles are suddenly fixed by a redemption baby no one asked for -_- do better! (Billy Zabka still kills portraying him and he is so awesome but please... Justice for Johnny Lawrence.) Yeah, Barnes should have stayed out of it. I hope he won't come back, his plot is wrapped now. Bring back Bobby instead. He deserves to be way more in the show. The season had some good moments but I was so hyped for it and then I was so bummed and the more I think about what could have been done different or better, the more bummed I am.

You want “Cobra Kai” to be serious , but it is all tongue-in-cheek. Clearly it is satire, spoof and pays homage to the 1980s movies and culture, Rocky, professional wrestling and is meant to be cheesy at times. If you watch it with that perspective, I think you would enjoy it more.

@@reelthought3867 Yes, it did change from seasons 1 and 2. It is more over-the-top now. Too bad you did not like the direction the show has taken. Hopefully you will like season 6, though. I think they have set things up to be an epic season 6. Perhaps it will be more grounded and less repetitive.

Long Comment Critique about the Series, you've been warned. The Thing that annoys me the most about this Series that is so repetitive that they have Miyagi Do as the Protagonist out to fight the Antagonist Cobra Kai, it may as well be the Karate Kid all over again when the Show should mainly focus on Cobra Kai instead of giving Miyagi Do half of the attention as well as the Larussos causing this Karate War in the first Place (Daniel not leaving well enough alone with Johnny/Cobra Kai, Sam abandoning her Friend Aisha for the "Cool Girls" also trying to steal Tory's Purse after falsely accusing her of stealing her Mom's Wallet, Anthony LaPusso bullying Kenny in Season 4). They also have so many Cobra Kai Students defect over to Miyagi Fang which has gotten old (Season 2 half of Johnny and Kreese's Cobra Kai defect to Miyagi Do, Season 3 the Kids that were kicked out of Kreese's Cobra Kai are now in Miyagi Fang as well as Miguel and Hawk in the end while Robby defects to Cobra Kai for only a Season only to defect back to Miyagi Do, in Season 5 Tory, Devon, and most likely the Cobra Kai Students that quit at the end will most likely defect to Miyagi Do too) and really needs to stop. They make the People that started this out to the Victims/Heroes when they started this mess in the first Place. Also, how contradicting the Series is. They try to imply that Cobra Kai is on Miyagi Do's Level yet in nearly every ending of every Season Miyagi Do either wins (Season 2 when all Miyagi Do Students defeat all Cobra Kai in the School Brawl, Season 3 when Miyagi Fang defeats Cobra Kai in the House Brawl, and Season 5 how they're able to successfully extract the Video to expose Silver managing to hold off the entire Cobra Kai Dojo) or if they lose it's because Cobra Kai cheated (Cobra Kai wins the Tournament in Season 1 because Hawk injured Robby while Miguel attacks him in-between Rounds and in Season 4 when Tory defeats Sam because Silver bribed the Ref even though Tory fought fairly not cheating). Johnny claims to hate Cobra Kai yet his Style and fighting approach is mainly based on what Kreese taught him as a Teenager minus the No Mercy Rule. Miyagi Do is based on defense while Cobra Kai is based on offense so it makes no sense that the Cobra Kai can't beat Miyagi Do by simply fighting aggressively without cheating. What I find funny is that Cobra Kai never cheated with other Dojos before Daniel/Miyagi Do got involved. What I also hate is the birth of that Eagle Fang nonsense, it's Cobra Kai for Christs Sake so that Eagle Fang nonsense has to go. What I find hypocritical about Johnny is that he's against doing whatever it takes to win yet when he's in that Bar Fight in Season 3 he's about to get choked out until that Woman throws him that Beer Stein which he uses to knock that Guy out while Robby also uses that Dragon Pepper to blind the MMA Fighter who's about to choke out Johnny. What I hate is some of the inconsistency in the Fight Scenes (the School Fight in Season 2 everybody is able to take Kicks and Punches for 10 Minutes straight, in Season 3 drunk Johnny gets dropped by only like 3 Strikes from some random Guy while he's able to take repeated Head Shots from Tang Soo Do Masters but what really gets me is that sober Johnny and Chozen couldn't even handle one of those Senseis on their own yet in the final Fight of Season 5 drunk Johnny is able to take on 6 of them while drunk Chozen is able to take on Silver. A still rusty/slightly injured Season 3 Miguel is getting repeatedly beaten by Kyler being thrown Back first into a Table and taking repeated Punches to that injured Area yet he's still able to stand to knock out Kyler with a single Punch. The Sekai Taikai being the UFC of Karate apparently will most likely be the final Season of Cobra Kai but I have a feeling that it'll be predictable as always where Miyagi Do somehow manages to win against Cobra Kai even though Master Kim and Kreese will most likely team up to restructure Cobra Kai with Master Kim bringing in some of her devoted Teenage Students from South Korea to America to fight for Cobra Kai while Kreese goes out to recruit new Students creating a more skilled Cobra Kai that has never been seen before. I would love to see Cobra Kai not only win it but prove that it was through fair Means so that Daniel realizes that Miyagi Do isn't the invincible Answer to fighting Philosophy as he makes it out to be with his holier than though nonsense.

First of all, I really appreciate you giving that much effort into telling me your honest thoughts on the series, and second, I agree. The show is very repetitive and contradicting. Literally to the point in season 5 where I can predict just about everything that will happen, episode by episode. I agree that this show is basically just a continuation of the Karate Kid, rather than a spin-off that is centered around Cobra Kai as the protagonist, which is basically how it was initially promoted. Not it's just the Karate Kid and bringing in old faces to sell this show. Nothing feels original.
