Professional burnout is not a social work rite of passage.
June is Professional Wellness Month.
We all know and agree that burnout and overworking are systemic issues! The responsibility cannot be placed on individual social workers, but we all also have to take our mental, physical, emotional, and professional
health into our own hands.
Self-reflection followed by a return to social work basics is one way that social workers can combat professional burnout and compassion fatigue.
Social Work 101:
1. Advocacy
2. Boundaries
3. Collaboration
4. Resourcefulness
5. Supervision
