The blue vending machine causes a lot of deaths, it happens when the AI go for cover on it - causing them to collide at max speed and splattering the AI. Just became a joke.

+Ashanark Same here. Halo 2 AI was fantastic. What I liked to do was run around with dual plasma pistols and go around overcharging and blowing out elite's shields. Then watch the marines fucking aim bot them to death. It was fantastic. Its tough keeping them alive when there are too many elites though since you have to wait for the plasma pistols to cool down, and there are often like 3-4 elites in one area at once. I've been working on my marine saving strategy as of late heheh

On legendary human AI are also dangerous if they all have plasma rifles.

The brutes are custom AI on this map, they don’t have the same coding as they normally would.

I like the missions as they are but I wish the MCC added playable demo. Plus 4 more missions that were cut. Including 2 missions where you fight elite led covenant forces with some brutes mixed in.

ODST and Marines have the same health, but may use different tactics.

@@SodBoi Are their AI actually diferent? Is there something different on their code?

They all share similar AI, voice clips and animations, but one of the differences between ODSTs and Marines in Halo 2 is the helmets that an ODST wears makes them near immune to headshots.

each Ai belongs to a squad, if the squad isnt programmed to go through a level then they wont.

Plus you should do brutes vs jackals on this map.

It's not that difficult, i would release a tutorial on it if i had a recording software. The free roaming camera is something i wouldn't know how to do though.

It could be done, yes, however it depends if theres existing AI/squads on different maps that could be set up and done well in a video.

Sod I think you should make AI Battles on the map delta halo at the huge sniper valley, for the Arbiter on top of the largest building you pass when looking for the main heretic base with a phantom, out in an open place you drive past during the mission metropolis right before you reach the scarab but after you leave the jackal sniper spot, out in the open areas of Uprising after you reach the ghosts and exit the first structure you find but before you reach the last structure (fight club), on the huge bridge you fight on towards the end of mission gravemind, on one of the big moving platforms in the mission sacred icon, in one of the open areas of the mission Quarantine Zone (I think good infantry combat could be at the end of the mission after you exit the second last structure in the game around when you group up with Rtas (in his spectre) right before you enter the final structure of that mission, and at the place in high charity where Cortana says "You might consider sitting this one out" when a team of brutes take on three ultra elites during the end of the traveling mission.

I have thought about doing some special battles on Delta Halo - stay tuned.

Yeah some variation of map would be nice Cairo is starting to look realllly old the only thing that keeps it relevant is a soda machine.....

Coolfrymaster I also think one of the large open spots in the mission Regret, the last place you go on the mission High Charity, and the vast open land in The Great Journey would be great spots for new battles.

Their behaviour has been edited a bit to fit the same as the Jackals, as the Jackals use grunt tags in this map file.

They have melees it's just very weak so it's better for marines to not use it. They can throw grenades but by default it's fairly rare for them

Well seeing as we aren't artificial or intelligent the early squad of eusocial Soddites should gain a victory.

I guess they didn’t want to introduce all the new additions of enemies in the first mission.

Because brutes and elites never get too well together, so the covenant battleships just have one type of leader (if we can say that) brutes or elites... they lead the other species. Brutes were consider a minor specie so it was degreading to profhets have brutes in their ship, wich is the case (this is not an official answer but after a study on books and comics this is what fans have) n_n

yeah that's true but brutes and elites are not the best friends... that's reason. On reach, there was many fleets, some of them with brutes :) The reason is simple, in that invasion ship there was no brutes... but especifically in that ship :)

I’m normally on daily, but a bit later in the day 10pm, I’m on during the day sometimes.

This was made way before the steam workshop was a thing for Halo 2/MCC. I haven't touched modding in a fair while. This map was only set up for this one instance, it wasn't an entire map change.

It might just be something in the programming of Spec Op Elites to be that aggressive. The Elite Ultra stayed back and fired.

I figured the odsts had more health and were more aggressive.

Perhaps the Spec Ops Elites are smart enough to understand that their shields give them time to run in and beat the ODSTs to death :P Can't deny that it worked, they killed more ODSTs than anything else in the video

They use the same health values and such that Marines use. They appear to me to be the same, just reskinned Marines.

Sod The one difference is they have headshot protection. They can take direct carbine shots while marines would be 1 shot.

Pointtakenbrah I'm pretty sure it was said that ODSTs have better accuracy and A.I compared to standard marines.

Maybe! I don't want to make it to imbalanced where the defending team always wins, because as Firefight progresses it tend to get harder - more enemies etc.
