Sofirn SP36 Pro Flashlight Kit Review!

3 жыл бұрынHere is the Sofirn SP36 Pro flashlight Kit. This is sporting four Luminus SST-40 LED's. This allows for a more of a flood beam but with a large hot sport to increase field of view distances which is excellent for a multi LED light. The USB Type C charging system for quicker charge times of the included 18650 cells. The cells are unprotected and will provide more than enough power and good runtimes. The solid and rugged build quality is very nice in which you would expect to pay more but not from Sofirn. They make some of the best budget lights on the market. This comment is from Korea. I bought the SP36 Pro 18 months ago. I usually use it when I go to the mountain at night alone. I think the short turbo mode time and severe heat generation are disadvantages.😢😢😢

I just got one of these and while I think it is overall a great light, I think I will return it. I already own a Sofirn 5000 lumen Q8, and this SP36 Pro is not any brighter. I realized that it would not outshine the Q8 by a whole lot, but I should still be able to tell a difference. To me with flashlights, if there is no NOTICABLE difference in brightness, there is no difference! I do like the Anduril UI, but I think I will just stick with my Q8. Sofirn used to make an 11000 lumen version of this light, but I have not seen that in a while. Great review as always!

I think at a point a slight increase in lumens arent that noticable and you start seeing diminishing returns. I have a 1000 lumens flashlight, got a 2000 lumen one and was left a little disappointed. There is still a difference but not by much or at least not enough perceived increase. Perhaps we looking at Candela instead of Lumens would help?

@@vsmh96 A long time ago on the Candlepower Forums somebody posted that to double the amount of perceivable light coming from a flashlight, you had to increase the lumens by a factor of four. In other words, a 4000 lumen flashlight will be twice as bright to the eyes as a 1000 lumen one. I believe this to be true!

I have Sofrin SP36 regular. Nice light, works well. Soda can style sure feels different in avg sized hand; bigger hands maybe not.

Hi mr bridgtec i have just got a sofirn sp36 pro it be very helpful if you you could tell me why when changing my flashlight the button flashes blue a not red it is not changing properly many thanks

So I was able to get some magnets and wanted to thank you for suggesting them, they have solved several compatibility issues, however I am less confident they would work as a solution for this style of connection, please correct me if I’m wrong, which I hope I am, but I am imagining that the screwing on could shift the little magnets and possibly short or not work? Perhaps it doesn’t need them to be button top? Forgive me if I’m wishful thinking lol, thanks!

If you are worried simply put a little super glue at the edge of magnets away from contacts so they will not move, but I have yet a magnet to move on me for they are strong. Thanks for watching!

Sorry to be a pain, my friend, but I do like the look of the convoy holster it doesn’t have to be tactile. I have subscribed and hit the bell and riveted to your channel. Amother great video sir! I have the sp36, not the pro, and it is great for lighting up the backyard to search for skunks before I let the dog out. The pro model looks the same, just more lumens. I agree with the lanyard hole. Mine took a drop no problem but a lanyard would have prevented it from hitting the deck. I may have to check out the pro model. I dont see how you can go wrong with Sofirn.

I have the sp36 and the sp36 pro the reason why I got both because they have two separate kinds of LEDs and I like both I'm a huge fan of anduril !!

I just ordered this torch today. I have to say I got REAL excited when you went over the manual and I quickly saw "batt check" with the Bat symbol and I thought "whoa, it has a Batman sky warning light?". WOW! Then I went back and looked at it again - oh... battery check.... oh well :)

Hello sir with 3.1 blinks on battery check and when I put it on turbo then steps gown after 1 or 2 seconds is it a sign of recharging the battery already?

Charles, great video, like always! But, I have compared Sofirn batteries to Samsung 30q batteries and the Samsungs have shown a noticeable improvement. So, I am not sure that 20a is correct for the Sofirn. I would guess that they are more like 10a current output. I cannot test lumens, but I compared the lux output on my Sofirn Q8 to my new 36 Pro and it should be 60% brighter in output, but it is more like 30% brighter according to lux readings in a small dark room reflecting off the ceiling. I question 8000 lumens!!

I used the LG HG2 cell in my night shots so improvement is always better with OEM cells but Sofirn cells are rewrapped OEM cell which are LG. Thanks for watching!

According to a review (posted on BFL) it doesn't quite touch the advertised 8000 lumens and even at its max it doesn't hold on turbo/ max output for too long mainly due to temperature control.

I totally agree...that ring is REALLY distracting to me. It drives me crazy...I wonder if they could make an OP reflector for this light and if that would resolve the issues with the beam because I really like the form factor and outputs.

I wouldn't say bulky in the hand, bulky and heavy for edc though. I love mine but it only comes out when I need to light up a large area. I use it as a lantern inside some evenings with a warm white diffuser. Set the thermals and for it's specs it gets no hotter than most other Led lights.
