A great pattern, very nicely tied, and I must say that even the tough days can sometimes be the most memorable...

Also, I wanted to mention that I love hearing about the tough days fishing in your video! It's encouraging to know that you're not having twenty fish days every outing ;-) All the best! Peter

Great video, Jonathan! I'm so happy with the boxes of flies I bought from your website! The first time out this season I had a bunch of hook-ups on your red tag hare's ear nymphs! Keep the videos coming:-) Tight lines! Peter in Austria

Well done Jonathan, and another master class! Your fly selection and online flies always do the job. I'd hope some TV company would pick you up for a series. Thanks.

Is that not a bit light in colour for a large dark olive

Jonathan, I'm wondering about your furled leaders you use in all of your videos. I see the benefits of better turnover, but, with the furled leader being coloured and opaque (as far as I can see), is it not essentially an extension of the fly line? I would have thought that it would spook the fish like the fly line, is this not correct? Many thanks, Will

The furled leaders taper down quite small and I've had tons of luck with them ever since I started using them last season. I bought some of Jon's and have tried some from a company called "Cutthroat." I've been out 8 times this season and have caught a good number of trout so far and the leader I'm using this season shows no signs of wear and works great. They turn over a good length of tippet too. I will not be going back to mono leaders for my normal stream fishing.

+Loetscher Peter thanks for your help, I will be trying one out soon I hope. Using a furled leader, do you simply use a short tippet, or do you add your own short tapered leader (say 4 foot) on the end of it? Sorry if what I'm asking seems obvious, I have never used one.

+William Chamberlain: On the package it says 2 to 5 feet of level tippet. No need to use a tapered leader, you're using the furled leader to get away from those:-) I usually use 3 feet of tippet or so when nymphing. A longer one would probably be beneficial when dry fly fishing. Good luck.

+Loetscher Peter I look forward to using one then. Many thanks for your help.

Insects have 6 legs, not 20......so you saying this is realistic imprint is bollocks.
